No way Fulmer should not be getting a $3 million buyout.

We're talking about Fulmer's true, unabashed love for UT, the school that has given him so much for all these years, and Phil saying, "I love this place so much, I really shouldn't take this money."

Crazy, yeah, but I think that's what the OP was saying.....maybe not.

You also heard him say something to the effect that he'd had the opportunity to make a living doing what he loved to do.

We should be eyeing Mike Hamilton for agreeing to such a deal. There's no way the University should be paying 6 million to any employee they fire. but that's a whole over issue. Coaching football is what Phil Fulmer does for a living. He has a contract that spells out how he's to be paid for what it is he does. No different than the one I have between me and the company I'm contracted to. I expect the company I'm contracted to to pay every penny they owe me in that contract as should Phillip Fulmer.

Expecting to be paid for what you do for a living as agreed to by you and the person hiring you is part of being an American. I used to do electrical work. I don't anymore, but sometimes I'll help out some group like the church or gun club straighten out an electical problem. I don't ask to be paid for it. On the other hand, I wouldn't expect an electrician to offer his services Free just because it was a good cause. If he did that, he'd never get done.

why give a coach that kind of contract when no one has ever tried to hire him away from UT I believe Hamilton should answer for it I believe Fulmer would have took a pay cut and coached There's something wrong with that whole deal

And he will if he doesnt bring the right man in for HC now

My understanding is that faildozer is banned? Else I would link a picture of a faildozer.

Can we at least go beep beep?

yes, faildozer was banned. I was just pointing out this thread is yet another shining example of why banning faildozer was a bad idea...

in other words, banning faildozer= beep beep

this thread= beep beep.

and evidently my attempt at getting a point across= beep beep

Even if fulmer pays taxes at 40%, he still pockets $3.6 mil after tax for sitting around doing nothing except playing golf and watching TV all day. Nice life.

Are you kidding me? Coach Fulmer is absolutely pissed that he was forced out. He truly believed that the program was simply in a rut that he could overcome with a little more time. The $6M eases the pain, but doesn't overcome the anger and ego burst.

At any rate, I am thankful that the administration pulled the trigger to prevent further erosion of our proud football tradition. I just wish it hadn't ended this ugly.
