no vandy?

It doesn't matter. Neither team has any business in the playoffs, and especially not Texas. They're all not good enough to get a shot. Some teams that are not good enough are going to get in there because you have to have 12 teams. It doesn't matter who the teams are.

Vandy shouldn’t be in for their self promotion of the Heisman and chirping about playing this weekend against ND/Miami in a playin game.

Reminder that Vandy had the same record, played in a tougher conference, had a much stronger SOS, and had better strength of record than Miami and ND....

The TV networks want ratings. Notre Dame will produce a lot of viewers (from fans who want them to win and from fans of other teams who want them to lose). Vanderbilt doesn’t have a large fan base and most other fan bases are indifferent about them.
Notre Dame and Vanderbilt were actually neck and neck in viewership this season. If they want viewership then they need to put Alabama and Texas in.

The powers that be aren’t letting 6 SEC teams in. Can you imagine the screaming if the BIG only gets 3 and we had six? (I’m shocked that we are getting 5.) The only way I can see Vandy getting in is if Bama gets curb stomped by Georgia Saturday even though folks say they don’t penalize teams that lose in the conference championship game. The committee might have second thoughts if that were to happen.

That's exactly what happened so now we will wait and see. However others will have a stronger case given the playoff arrangement.

The bottom line is though Vandy is a nice story they have no wins over ranked teams.

Based on everything I've heard this morning Bama will get in....and ND. Crap!

I hate to say it but Vandy should be in. If we were in the same position as them, volnation would be on fire right now

USC is better than any win Vandy has. And both of ND's losses were in extremely close games that came down to the wire vs 2 top 12 teams.

Vandy pretty much got dominated by a 2 loss Bama team. Then a 3 loss Texas team smacked them around for them for 3 quarters, although it ended up close in the end.
You didn’t watch the Vandy-Bama game did you? Bama in no way dominated that game. It was the opposite of the Texas game for Vandy, they were right there until very late.

The committee doesn’t watch all these games either. They just look at the numbers and logos in contention.

Can someone give me a good reason as to how Notre Dame is in and Vanderbilt is not. Just look at their schedules.
Eye test. ND looks like one of the best teams in the country right now. They've dominated everyone and their two losses are by 4 points to top 12 teams in Weeks 1 and 2.

Bama pretty much controlled the second half. Vandy was up 14-13 and didn't score another point. And Bama went on an 8 minute drive that ate up a bunch of clock. So I wouldn't say dominated but the second half they took over. Vandy had no answers offensively.

Those 2 turnovers by Pavia killed any chance.

As much as I can't stand Vandy, they deserved to be in. But the powers that be don't think that they'd draw the numbers in viewership that certain other teams that got in would or that they'd bring in as much money as the other teams. And the committee also would rather have traditional blue bloods in over some, as they'd put it, "feel good story."

Vandy had 16 first downs all game. It was a game at half time, but after that Bama locked them down.

Bama did stop their offense in the second half, but it was a one score game until about 4:00 left. Vandy competed well. Pavia ran his mouth and didn’t back it up as his 2 turnovers cratered any chance they had.
