That article gave no real facts as to why he wouldn't be a good fit for UT. It just said "He wouldn't. SO THERE. TAKE THAT."

I'm not trying to convince anyone he'd be a good fit, nor is anyone here a supposed journalist (as far as I know). It was a poor article.

We should say "No" to a coach who has an NFL job for a position that isn't open?

It seemed like the Sports Editor needed to fill up some space in Sunday's edition and said, "Hey David give me 9inches on something UT-ish" and he came up with that.

Why, because some writer from Jackson doesn't think that a coach in Tampa will come to Knoxville? This guy has no more insight into the situation than anyone on Volnation.

That's certainly what it seemed like. Meaningless print, offering no insight, taking up 45 seconds of my life that I'll never get back.

Comparing Gruden to Wade Houston is just plain dumb.

A lot of people other than a writer in Jackson share the same opinion. That's the b**** of it, it's only pure speculation.

Was stupid speculation to begin with, same with Cowher. Was never a possiblity or a good fit.

I was high on Gruden, but right now he is 4-2, and has the NFC South lead, so I doubt he's gonna be available.

Don't inflate Climer's overestimated ego by paying any attention to this. He's a terrible writer, and the paper that prints his garbage isn't even worth using as toilet tissue.

What about the "Chin" Bill Cowher.....that would just be wierd to see chucky or the chin in orange....be a wierd sight....

They are pro coaches without much college experience especially recently. It is a whole different game with recruiting, academics, the NCAA, etc..Not saying they couldn't learn it but it would take a while. Neither is coming anyway so it's a moot point.
