I just looked at the box score from the Chargers game last night -- looks like Crompton did not get any snaps. Anyone know any different? Anyone who follows the Chargers think he will get pre-season snaps?

the 3rd preason game the starters normally stay in alot longer than the other pre-season games. Rivers played the entire first half and Volek played the rest of the way. I bet he will get alot of playing time in the last preseason game

Unfortunately, unless the Chargers are different than the Colts, I think most only carry 2 QBs on the roster...am I wrong on this?

So does JC end up on the practice squad or???

Sorry Im not all that in tune with the pro game...

I think that most of NFL teams carry three OBs on the roster the entire year.

yea some do, and I don't see him beating out Volek for the # 2 spot. not this year, but I think he eventually can

in 2008 we led the entire NCAA in 3-and-out percentage with Clawson's offense. total offense was ranked like 110th I think.
he was in 3 different systems in 3 years. what a turnaround for Crompton.

If there is anyone who knows how to be a backup to Volek it is Crompton's former coach:)

I've been watching the Chargers in the preseason and I have to say that I see nothing different in Volek. Matter of fact, I believe Crompton went for more yards and had even or better stats than Volek. I still believe he should have had a few passes last night. I hope he can keep practicing and building.

It's more about experience and trust. The Chargers are in a weak division, and should be the favorites to win that division. If anything happens to Rivers, they don't want to thrust a rookie QB into the lineup while trying to fight for a playoff berth. That's where Volek's value lies.

Crompton did look really bad in the Week 2 game. That did not help his cause of beating out Volek.

He did look pretty bad in that game against the cowboys...but at least he didn't throw an interception for a return TD. Not saying he should be ahead of Volek at this point, just sayin....
