No Respect Left in UT-Alabama Rivalry

You bama fans sat in one spot. I was all over the place, all over the field, and outside the stadium. At halftime and after the game. In many areas, and I witnessed many fans having words, but like I said, I did not see anyone have a fight. Just angry words exchanged. I have spoken with many Vol fans who said they saw plenty of words being exchanged, four in particular in the North endzone.

Alabama fans will always be especially ugly as long as Fulmer is here. They see him as the rat who turned them in and caused the probation. Justified or not, he is thought of as a hypocrite in Alabama because of that and the Tee Martin Cadillac thing. When he's gone. it will go back to just a heated rivalry. Another reason Fulmer needs to retire.

Trust me I could write a list a mile long about UT fans and things done and said but we won so I don't have to stoop to that level.

BTW I don't even agree with the word HELL in rammer jammer.

I have a problem with that too, he should learn the words to rammer jammer. It's "Hell" not "F@@K".

As much as I hate to hear Rammer Jammer, that definitely wouldn't have offended me the way "F@@k" did, but that's a reflection of the kids parents, not Bama fans in general. And yes every team has ugly acting fans. I just have a lot of stubborn pride and hate it when my Vols lose(especially to Bama) and losing has been the norm this year, but hey, there's always next October!!!

It's true. Alabama fans are the rudest, most obnoxious, and downright classless fans of any school I've ever encountered. Usually these sorts of statements about fanbases amount to hyperbole or gross generalizations, but not when it comes to Alabama. I respect all the teams we play, but they're the only ones that inspire in me true feelings of "hate."

As much as I hate Florida, their fans that come to Neyland are pretty decent. The Alabama fans that come are just nasty, and I was surrounded by them last night. Shame on the season ticket holders who sold/gave their tickets to Alabama fans.

At least the bama fans came to the game. Where were all the Vol fans? There were bama fans sitting all over the stadium. There was no section solid orange. This was supposed to be an away game for them. Our "fans" are killing me.
I drove 4 hours to go to the game and stayed till the end and had to listen to the bama faithful celebrate like they had beaten someone where it actually mattered.

We got dominated on the field..so in my opinion their fans had every right in the world to be arrogant obnoxious and however the hell else they wanted to act towards us.

yet another well thought out bammer post. Thanks for sharing!

The bammer trolls really are solid this year(LAME)....wow they beat us. I can't understand why they think its an accomplishment. NIU almost beat us, wow, good job bama.

Maybe you hit on something there. The team's lousy because of our lousy fan base. I think Phil has alluded to that in the past, but it never occurred to me until you just said it. And to think all this time I thought is was Fulmer.

Bama will not win the SECCG so all of this winning in the regular season doesn't matter.

There you go, a really profound thought. I guess Fulmer has it right after all. No use wasting time and effort winning those useless regular season games.

The lack of love for each other's team is nothing new and it has been that way for generations. I imagine that the guy writing the article is probably a yankee who does not understand the nature of the rivalry. The day that we start liking, respecting, whatever, is the day that the game means less and less to both programs. I was glad to see that no one was fighting or was hurt. Other than that, that is what you get from BOTH fan bases when Alabama and Tennessee take the field. If you did not know that, you have not been a SEC football fan for long.

I had my 10 year old son with me. Before the game on the way into the stadium, we had more than one Tenessee fan yell and cuss at us. My boy is a bit on the innocent side and did not understand it, and I just told him that is the way it is for this rivalry. He did get to witness a couple of drunk Bama fans also, so I got to explain to him that there are good fans and bad fans for every team. If I ever heard him say the word f***, he would probably get his mouth smacked.

In the first half, I thougth we were in for another classic. The offense of pass interference call on TN was BS!!! The fumble call was very close, could have went either way. As far as Bama making cheap shots, that is BS. Tennessee got pounded Satuday night. They were dropping like flies in the second half, nothing cheap or dirty about it. John Parker Wilson took more than one dirty, late hit, but you will not hear any Bama fans whining about it. He got up, put a band aide on his chin, and directed the Tide to 29 points.

That is 3 out of the last 4, TN fans, and I can not see a change in the near future. Good times come and go, and right now is the time for the Alabama Crimson Tide. I hate getting beat by TN, but it is something that I had to live with for several years. Getting beat by Bama is something you will have to live with this year and for the next several years. Hopefully, The Vols will make it more competetive than the last two. I have heard some sour grapes from Vol fans I know, and a couple will not even speak to me. I never acted that way when TN beat Bama. TN got spanked on Saturday night, and 10 calls could have went the Vols way, and the outcome would have not been different. The Vols offense is horrible. They could not score on Bama's scout team. I have news for ya also, Kentucky's defense is alot better than Tennessee's. I imagine that getting beat by Kentucky and probably Vandy, is going to hurt even worse than Bama. Hey Vols, you lost, and you lost big. It is a great day to be alive!!! Roll Tide!!!!! :victory:

I didn't say they would, although I think they will. That still doesn't change the fact that they beat a piss poor UT team at our house..and the trolls are acting like its a major accomplishment. My point was if NIU could keep up with us and UCLA could beat us, then so what if the you're the #2 team in the country and you beat us?

The game has lost it's luster, my brother is huge Bama Fan (dropped on his head as a baby) but he didn't even call after the game to rub it in. For the past 20+ years UT Bama week was huge in our family winner had bragging rights. When he did call yesterday it was "didn't want to kick you when your down" and "just didn't seem right because it wasn't much of a game".

Dang it we don't have to win every year but we do have to be in the games and not get embarrassed by the rest of the SEC.

The problem with the Bammers is they don't know how to act like they have been there before. They have a little bit of recent success and they think they are world beaters. Tenn has beat Alabama 10 of the last 14 games. Tennessee and Auburn own them and that kills their soul. I was in the stands when they cheered that a dirty chop block took Dan Williams out and I thought same old "classless bama" Some things never change.

With thousands of Tennessee fans and every network announcer in the country screaming upset all week, Bama should not be excited and proud over beating an SEC opponent at home. Now you are saying that the win should not mean much because your team sucks anyway? Tennessee fans do not deserve a good team. I said it when you were winning and I say it now. Tennessee has the most fairweather fans I have ever witnessed. Pitiful. You are officially a basketball school now.

Lol..
More salt in a gaping wound....
We love it..........
And will love it for the next 363 days........

Very good though....if beating UT is the only thing you have to celebrate about, then you are a pitiful fan. We aren't very good, most of us know it. Why don't you just go focus on important games? Wow, you beat us...congrats....its a huge accomplishment.:good!:

10 out of 14 is history, 3 out of 4 is now!!! Tennessee does not own Bama, and we start with Auburn in November. Bring on the Gators, I think they already have a loss if my memory serves me right, and we sure beat TN worse than Florida did. Nothing, abosolutely nothing can put Bama down. If you seriously think that Tennesee has more class than Alabama, LOL. You are very bad winners, much less losers.
