Never really thought about this before but CDD goes with no RB coach and both 2010 and so far in 2011 running game has struggled. Is there a correlation? Does this team need a full-time RB position coach?

Just wanted to hear VN thoughts.

It wouldn't hurt, but the problem with the running game is the line. I hate blaming them guys, but they didn't fire off the ball or put anyone on their back yesterday.

did not realize we didnt have a RB coach. So who coaches the RB or do they get free time? LOL

I dont think J. Lewis could run behind this line. The OL is the problem, they are getting pushed back and around.

Offensive line getting destroyed = no running game. When the RB is attempting to either juke or run over a defender within 0.7 seconds of receiving the hand-off you are not going to have a good running game.

Dooley coaches RBs.

Interesting. The HC can't dedicate as much time to coaching the position player as a true position coach could. I'd like to see if someone who is well connected with the staff or has watched practices thinks this may be affecting the RB production?

In 09 Hardesty and company were able to find running room behind the sullins twins, who God bless em, gave it their all but had no business starting. We seem to have ran the ball better when we had an Eddie Gran and Trooper Taylor type RB coach. Between the Spec Team play and the performance by our running backs we miss Gran terribly.
