The poster knows squat. That's all just regurgitation from various posts/websites which are all filled with nothing but supposition and rumors. UT fans during a coaching search make absolutely no sense if you want the truth. I've seen such ridiculous and asinine tripe that it boggles the imagination. Simply astounding that we see the same crap over and over and over again with each and every coaching search. Seems folks are incapable of logical thought and learning from previous experience.

Where the heck is the sense of urgency in this program? If the Vols want to be an elite program then the administration needs to get involved also-maybe the head ball coach needs a push in the right direction. I’m in the military and have to get all my Vol news from the internet and it is getting harder and harder to find anything about the Vols football program(no national buzz what so ever)…a DC leaving for another school is not the headlines you want your program to have especially during recruiting season. Just three years ago I could go to a sports store in Minot, ND and get Vol apparel and now I can’t even find a hat in one of the largest hat retailers in the country in stores in and around Denver! We are not a national brand anymore and until we are get braced for W/L of 6 and 6 every year!

"I think you have to trust coaches to know how to hire and who to hire and what responsibilities to dole out to various assistant coaches. I don’t micromanage that."

Next on Dooley’s list is Phillip Bennett. I am led to believe Bennett was sold on the idea, but his daughter convinced him to back out at the last minute. As I am told, this caused Hart to speak up a little more emphatically about the hiring of a still available Randy Shannon. We shall see.



Finally, let’s address the various information coming in from different media outlets. With the turmoil in the AD over the last few years, many outlets have lost sources. Some outlets are stating the there is no interest in Shannon, while others are stating there is. I can say without hesitation that if an outlet is saying there is no interest, they are getting their information from someone close to Dooley (because Dooley does not have interest in hiring Randy Shannon). On the contrary, any indication of interest in Shannon is coming from Randy Shannon or someone close to Dave Hart (because there is absolute interest from both parties).



Without getting too dramatic, it certainly seems like this will be the first big test for our new AD with a “my way or the highway” reputation. If Randy Shannon is hired, you can be assured that Hart has won out. If anyone else is named DC, Dooley has convinced Hart that he should be able to sink or swim with his guys in place.

Seems legit. Either way, things arent running smooth on the Hill. If this is the case then the writing is on the wall... Hart and Dooley not being on the same page is not good for Dooley. Is it me or does Dooley seem to rub everyone the wrong way? Does this guy get along with anyone? Damn he's just like Saban.... now if he can just win like Saban we'd be okay. Like Alabama fans, i'd put up with the a$$hole attitude if he'd win some ball games....

Just a guess, but I bet Wilcox and Dooley talked about this situation and agreed on the timing. I have seen no reason to believe that the men would not treat each other with respect, nor to jeopardize the future of the young men they have recruited. We should know that Dooley would not make the hire until after the coach's convention. He is being diligent. That is what we pay him for.

Quit freaking out. Regardless, we will have our best season since 2007 this Fall.

If it is legit I am sorry but it is time to cut ties period. I am not a Dooley hater but this is something that has to be addressed. Yes he is the coach but if he is hiring scared so to speak with his track record then it is time to go. We do not have time for his mamby pamby crap anymore. Either get the people in here to win or hit the road IMO. This is taking too long IMO unless it really has been put into place already in which I do not think is the case but we will see. Hopefully soon!

Understatement! Dooley is a lame duck and that has played a role in the DC search and for current staff looking around. Don't be surprised if Chaney bolts after signing day.

As Ive said before, I dont know what the truth is and I am not privied to any insider information. Found this article on the web and just posted it to add a point of view and see what everyone thought. Not trying to be an ass but this is a public forum and I could care less how intelligent you or anyone else thinks I am for the post. It's more intelligent than 90% of the Sky is Falling posts on here.
