No more excuses for this team

Injury's.

How'd I do?

Not too good. Since it's spelled injuries in the way I placed it in the sentence. If we're talking about a specific injury's to multiple player you could say Injury's as long as it's before the player's names. Now, we're getting into a grammar & spelling contest out of this. Ha! :):p:wink:

Love this team and our coaches. The sad part is our fumbles are from multiple sources. Player makes a great run fights for an extra yard and gets stripped. Missed exchange QB RB.
Dropped passes get slapped up and intercepted.
Fumbles haven't been a problem in past years. Players have been properly coached but more is needed. Dame NCAA practice limits. The skill players have to hang out after practice an work on it without the coaches. Team leaders have to lead.

It's funny how many of you people are happy after a loss. Tennessee played undisciplined and careless. But somehow the fact that they lost a close game satisfies you.. That's comical.

We are allowed to be ticked off that the better team stunk up the game and blew their chance at a perfect season.

It doesn't mean anyone wants Tennessee to lose.

Tennessee lost because they made the same mistakes they've made ALL SEASON LONG. Fighting back shows they are a very talented team. Making the same mistakes in every game shows poor preparation. Who's to blame for that? Coaches.

Seeing you guys enjoy this loss is pitiful. Expect better. It's like moral loss u.

eh, i've been as critical as anyone about our current recipe for winning a game. and we followed the same recipe yet again, and it finally cost us.

i don't like it either, but what i just can't get out of my head is this:

show me another team in the country that can go in a stadium like that, against a top 10 team, spot the team 12 penalties, 7 turnovers and a 21 point lead, not play 4 starters, lose 3 more players during the game, and still get it to overtime? that's a very short list. this team is very good.

but.........as many of us knew, the only team that holds TN back right now....is TN. until/unless we figure out who to play a complete game, a loss is always on the table as an outcome. but in reality...aTm should have beat the brakes off us. and as much blame should go to the coaches for not being prepared, i agree with you on that, i'll give them equal credit for getting this team to continually believe, and to make big plays. he's right when he says they don't flinch. and that comes from the top. so, i like to think i call it like i see it, and i see a very confident team, that doesn't quit, and just needs to get better at fundamentals....and get healthier.

Excuses. Yes. They will always be there. We are the only team that has ever had to rebuild a program from a dumpster fire. We are the only team who has ever had a horrible coach before our current one. We are the only team to face injuries to multiple starters.

It is just not fair. Why do these things not happen to other schools?

Oh wait, they do.

Last year the Legion of Sunshine was preaching moral victory. This year through the first 5 games, the Legion of Sunshine was preaching winning is all that matters. But magically, after game 6, they are back to moral victories.

Our team is/could be very good this year, if some changes are made. The season isn't over, and a win this week will mean all is forgiven. A loss this week will make Volnation a rough place to be next week.

GO VOLS!!!

I would like to apologize for my lack of blue font while posting.
I would like to point out that Bare got it.

I wish you would go to the "effort is there" thread and tell if I'm not "getting it" there.

The excuse train is chugging on down the track.

That's the only funny part about a loss.. The creativity of some of you. Blaming the refs for Tennessee turning the ball over 7 times and all the penalties. That's a Volnation tradition.

I've even seen people on here claiming the fumbles weren't even fumbles. That's rich. Every turnover was legit.

This is an undisciplined team. Teams that stress ball security do not turn it over 7 times.

Injuries didn't cause the turnovers. Lack of discipline and focus did.

Dobbs attempting to do the one thing you never do with a fumble? Discipline.

Tennessee has heart. Tennessee has talent. Tennessee has a never say die attitude. Tennessee fights to the final whistle.

That doesn't make this a disciplined team. It makes them talented. Today that was their downfall. The same problem from week one. Hasn't been addressed. Same story from every game.

Exactly. When people start blaming officials, exclusively, you know they don't know football. I thought the game was very fairly called. I saw numerous UT holds that didn't get called. Refs let both sides play.
