Maybe now we can settle down and play some football. As much as it pains me to say, I don't think this team is that good. Lots of young talent but some glaring holes. I'd sit Randolph for the rest of the year. Terrible angles. Hopefully these heart breaking loses will teach this team to not take anything for granted. Keep the faith, gentlemen. Our time will come.

I don't remember hearing many "crazy expectations". Not being 2-3 and not blowing double digit leads in all 3 losses, and having a passing game with 5 star wr's, seems reasonable

Tough for most to keep the faith (especially right after another loss). But, if people really want the best for the Vols, right now, it will only come with support and yes, even more patience. I say this being of sound mind and Sober. Several bad coaching decisions? yes. A QB that's not playing at SEC caliber? yes. A defense with surprisingly few turnovers and points? yes. But even with all that, our best chance of success is to lift the team up and get behind Butch. There is no 'miracle' Coach just waiting around the corner.

Right ...blew 3 two TD leads and now we need to lower our expectations.

We have had at least 13 point lead in 5 games this season and we are 2-3. That's coaching and lose the faith. Got expectations out of the way get out of here with that sheepish BS

Ridiculous. We've had more talent than anyone we've played so far. Read the writing on the wall....Butch is in over his head. The faster he goes, the better....the longer he stays, the worse the program gets hit. He will not close another strong recruiting class because recruits can see the product he is putting on the field. He recruited over his head and deserves to be commended for that, but the longer he stays, the more of that talent we will lose. A great coach can take the talent we have and put it to good use and build off of it.

Doesn't have to be a great coach...just a good coach. Is McElwain a great coach? No. He's a good coach. He's COY nationwide IMO.

I expect a coach to not call TOs before the opposing team attempts a FG or punt, giving them a chance to change their mind and score two TDs.

I expect a coach to know to go for two up 12 in the 4th.

I expect a coach to either stay aggressive or let the clock run down up two scores in the 4th, not run every play and snap it with double digit time left on the play clock.

I expect a coach to know when the clock is running with 1:00 left in the game and you're down.

I expect a coach to not repeatedly run the read-option with Worley at QB.

I expect a coach who has 4 offensive linemen that made a NFL roster to exploit that line.

I expect a coach to know when to go for it on 4th and goal from the one.

I expect a coach to admit when he makes foolish mistakes that give games to his opponents, instead of trying to deflect blame.

I also expect for someone to be held accountable if after four years their record is the same as Dooley's.

I still have a little hope Butch can turn it around, but "if" the Ws aren't here after next year when the roster is filled with nothing but players recruited by him, I expect him to meet the same fate as his predecessor.

I expect someone's ass to get fired over this, not Butch's right now, but the OC AND DC better be making plans for the future.

I would think that recruits would look more at the fan base rather than what CBJ is doing on the field, not showing any support for the team and starting all the fire yet another coach,we have seen how well that has worked out

that sends a pretty poor message to future players that want to be a VFL,don't you think ?
