I usually buy it every year around May and play it quite a bit until the football opener.

I tried to play the Show a few years ago. Super complex game. Baseball games seem to be for the die-hard baseball fan these days.

Is it The Show that's similar to MVP?

I played a baseball game on my friends PS3 a few years back and thought it had been similar. I loved MVP baseball on Xbox. It was simply the best baseball game in my opinion.

The Show is an excellent, top-tier game, just so happens it's a baseball sim game.

The Show is what MVP would have become if it had continued and been developed by better developers (EA Sports has, for the most part, been atrocious on the current-gen systems). It can be very complex to satisfy the hardcore fan, but the controls, sliders, and difficulty levels can be modified to make the game fun for any level player or fan.

If you are even remotely a baseball fan and own a PS3, this needs to be a yearly purchase. If you are a baseball fan with only an Xbox console, this game alone justifies a PS3 purchase (some other PS exclusives don't hurt either).

MLB 2K13 is going to give the show a run for its money IMO. Screens look great, I think this is the year Sony goes down.

Would be a good thing if they did. Competition is good. Show has kind of got comfortable IMO. Still a good game but it getting like Madden. They taught an online franchise that is not up to par. In the end it is.... well it doesn't have this and this.... I wish more companies would take the BF3 approach. Release a good game and continue to add to it. Why would it be so wrong for a sports game to do that? Create the server side based franchise and build on it for a couple years, and scrap the new game every year with minor improvements. Just a thought.

I think you're basing it in the name. 2k13 will be a legitimate sports goty candidate . They've always been neck and neck with the show, this is the year they surge ahead IMO.

I have played the past few editions and disliked them. I hope they step their game up. The competition would push the people at the show.
