I know he was hurt in spring but I was under impression he was going to be ready for fall camp. I haven't seen any mention of him in practice notes or even seen him on any videos. JG seemed to lead 3rd string in Practice 4 and there was no Jones.

Is he back ? If no whats the expected date ? anyone know ?

those with injuries from last fall or spring might not be ready to go 100% at start of fall practice. When they indicate they are ready for practice, could be anywhere below 100% which means they do limited work. Jones is not ready for 100% work

he's shown on the practice videos full participation. strong arm with a quick release and real good wheels is the way he's described. well liked in the locker room. #3 on depth chart as a redshirt freshman.

My guess is Dormady and JG battle for the back up job this fall. The winner will get a good bit of playing time in blow outs. That player will start next year, the loser will transfer out. Sherion stays on as the back up, ready to go in case of injury

Sheriron gets passed over by a true freshman and he transfers. I was one of the first on here to say that it would take a lot for SJ to transfer. I believe he came back because he honestly feels he can beat out anybody for the starters job next year. This kind of move really serves no benefit...for JG's development OR depth. Garbage time minutes will not determine the starter for next year...next Spring and Fall camp will. Redshirt and a year of development would be beneficial for all concerned IMO

Does Guarantano RS? If so then SJ is #3. And it isn't like we have never seen the #3 QB take the field. Worley is injuried, Peterman stumbles and Dobbs gets the job.

Remember Colquitt-Helton. . . .Ainges-Schaeffer?

Remember CJ Leak, Ric Clausen, Ainge and Schaefer?

IMO Dormady is the clear cut # 2. there will be no battle. JG is headed for redshirt.

With a chance to get to Atlanta they will not risk chance (assuming Dobbs misses time) with a true freshman.

They like Dormady a lot.

I do think there will be QB transfers in the future due to 3 good players and all can't play.
