No Huddle Offense

Well, if we're going to criticize Phil for conservative play-calling (myself included), then we have to at least adopt a "wait and see" approach to the no-huddle plan.

I'd like to see the Vols keep a couple of FB's on the roster. You can still use them in short yardage and goal-line situations. Spread the defense out, and a FB/RB draw with a 230 lb back becomes a one-on-one against a middle linebacker. If a lineman can get the LB blocked, your FB is running downhill towards a defensive back. I like those matchups.

Our Tight Ends pretty much learn the Fullback position in practice. Chris Brown has lined up in the backfield a few times. We've had some other TE's do it. If a situation calls for a FB, we'll have someone that can fill that role.

Holbert moving to TE shows how similiar a role they have in our O.

A qualifier like why your more knowledgable then the majority of fans, so your qualified to make the statement. Otherwise your just stating an opinion like everyone else in here.

You didn't think you would get a free pass?

You're confusing.

all this no-huddle talk is just that, talk. the first time it gets blown up in practice Phil will revert back to the same old same old

Eight plays or fifteen or thirty the offense has to execute. UF didn't have a whole lot of mix in their offense this year either. Third and short what happened? Bring in Tebow and let him run either left or right of center. Lots of smoke and mirrors on that one, yea. The difference is they executed.

Offense will improve this year, again. Question is will it be enough to get over the traditional Gator, UGA, and other humps that have been a thorn over the last 8 years.
