No huddle = no advantage

Well lets look at the numbers. No sacks, no stupid penalties besides one offsides, no picks, fewer drops than last year on average, higher completion %, a decent running game, and a legit 2 way threat. All in the first outing of the no-huddle for a team thats never run it. Sounds like a pretty good start to me.

No, it's a stupid comparison to try to say we ran it as well as the best team in football. Perhaps if you don't get that, I'll send you a copy of that book you're so fond of.

Running it WELL is one thing. Running it like the COLTS run it is another. There is NO comparison. You may as well say that every team that runs the no huddle runs it that well then....

You compared the Vols that you think suck so bad to the World Champions.....and that doesn't sound odd to you?

Obviously a copy of Football for Dummies wouldn't help you too much because you can't read. I never said we ran our offense as well as the Colts. I said we ran it the same way. We did.

As well as it worked, I'm just not too fond of having 5 wide and 2 of the 5 being a runningback and tight end.

They just aren't going to run as good of routes or give the same opportunities down field. Obviously Chris Brown blew up and we know our running backs can catch, but depending on the play call, I'd rather have 5 wide receivers, even if they're inexperienced, than the rb/te combo.

They can still run the no huddle and make those switches.

Based on Kenny O'Neal and Vinson's brief appearances, I'd say we just don't have 5 wide receivers that are ready to play a lot. We might have couple of 5 wide looks, but we aren't able to keep five WRs on the field for the majority of a drive at this point.

but a TE and RB can do things and add a certain dynamic that a WR cant. a TE is a bigger target who can get that extra yard for a 1st down by size and strength alone. And a RB is naturally a better runner that is more likely to get more yards after the catch. Plus there is the factor of not defending them with as good of a player as you would normally put on a WR.

"We ran it the same way. We did."......

What part of that isn't comparing it to HOW WELL they run it? Considering they're the best at it.....the comparison in itself is foolish. You may as well compare Erik Ainge to Peyton Manning.

It isn't comparing how well we run it. We run it the same way. Colts and Vols both go to the line. Erik/Peyton looks at the defense and makes a call. Adjustment is made. Ball is snapped with around 5 seconds remaining on the clock. The Colts have done this for years. UT did it tonight. It's the no-huddle offense. We did it the same way the Colts do it. Lots of college teams run a cover-2 defense. That doesn't mean they run their defense as well as Tony Dungy.

Considering what EA has had to work with the past 3 years i dont rank him far below Peyton. If EA had last years receivers with this years O-line and scheme i could see him breaking a large part of Peytons records.
