Actually, as bleak as you try to make it out to be,it's not too bead.
1.He's of legal age
2.Hopefully walking distance back to his room or had a d/d
3.He's not drinking liquor
4.He's not outside smoking weed/crack
5.My son runs into some of his Vol friends out periodically and you won't catch him being a snitch.
6.I don't mean to condone partying but as long as it's safe,legal,in between keeping up their grades and practice,I wouldn't stay hidden away in my room either with my free time.Let's be realistic.

Another board is saying there was a problem between Coach Roper and Hard' during the week prior the Bama Game. They surmise this is why he was on the pine Saturday.

This game should have went in this order. Foster for 7, 8, 15, 6, 12. Insert Hardesty for 8, 9, 6, 5, 15, 12. Back to Foster. The team was well on their way to establishing the run and slowing this game down to a physical type game and instead the old stubborn coaches decided they like our chances better in a shootout. Too bad we didn't bring any ammo from Knoxville. Poor coaching from the entire staff. How as a head coach do you not know what players are going into the game especially on third and 1 when your work horse has been on the bench the entire drive.

Who knows for sure. It's still sorta developing as the posters have friends in the know with the team.

The posters believe the Roper conflict may be the REAL reason Hard' was on the pine as opposed to the comment made by CPF re the reason he did not see play time.

Would expect more as the day wears on.

All ihave to say is i went to the game... i saw hardesty in the hotel before the game... and he was perfectly FINE.. actually he was cutting up, laughing with a teammate and in very good spirits... something is very wrong...

It is very nieve to think discipline had nothing to do with his lack of playing. They are not publicly saying that. But something happened at some point. 3 and 1 and you put in Creer? That didn't have anything to do with needing a RB in the game that could catch out of the backfield. Its obvious something happened to cause Roper not to send him into the game.

any way you slice it, this is not good. when the players start voicing discontent, you can bet it was there prior to the actual verbal confirmation.

is CPF losing this team? don't know, but how many times have we seen this kind of thing happen to other teams in the past and it turn out for the good? not too often.

well, i dont' know about apocolypse, but it certainly feels like the end of an era......that's for sure.

yep. i think the worst thing about this year for me is the apathy i now have for the rest of the season. call it being spoiled or unrealistic, for those of you that would like, but in the realm of "it's not losing, it's who you lose to", this season has been hard, esp. considering how we lost the games we lost.

i think i'm pretty objective, as objective as i can be at least, while being a UT fan, and i don't see any advantage we have over FL or Bama or LSU or Auburn. And at the present time i don't see an advantage over KY, and that is likely just short term, but hey, that's what we're dealing with right now anyway.

bottom line, i just don't get the warm fuzzies with what's going on on the hil these days, and i don't see any reason to in the near future. and this set of events doesn't help that one bit.

It is going to be a greivous time for all involved. That is the nature of the purge. Just remember O+W, time also heals all wounds.

Well, perhaps, they KNEW Hard' was NOT going in--because they KNEW the real reason he was pined.

People are starting to think the coaches statements re why Hard' was not in the game was just "spin-coverup" for the real reason. Who knows.

For all of you who say that you don't blame MH for going MIA, I'm glad you were never on my team. There is more to the team than the coaching staff. There are your teammates as well. Quitting on your team in mid season is NEVER acceptable. If a player quits mid season I don't want him on the field with me. It's one thing to make a decision after a season is over. But never during the season. Getting mad at a coach is understandable but you don't quit on your team EVER! Those of you who say that is acceptable, I hope I nor anyone else ever counts on you.
