ohhh I didn't think about the NFL portion of it. Pretty good point. Joey isn't the only one on the lawsuit

Not really. Like every college athlete now who runs out of eligibility, Joey A can declare for the draft. He's eligible as are all the JUCO guys in the lawsuit, including Pavia. That's the same for all college athletes.

Last year's Pavia lawsuit revolved around JUCO athletes not getting the same treatment as other college athletes when it came to the "COVID free year." JUCO athletes weren't included in that so they were being singled out and prevented from having that extra year and extra earnings.

It's not the same. The "damage" to Pavia was being treated differently from other college athletes. Joey A and the JUCO guys are being treated just like all college athletes in that you get 5 years, period.

Portal closing doesn't mean they have to sign a QB by then. There are / will be plenty of QBs available after portal closes. Can still sign a QB. Portal closing just stops anyone else from going into the portal this year.

Only problem is if we aren't in the playoffs next year the nut jobs here will be calling for Heupels head, there's already some but there will be a bunch, if we have a 8-4 season again this place will have a melt down🤣 if we can't get the ASU QB or Aguilar can't return, try to get the best available QB for some competition with Mac and Faizon and whoever wins the job wins the job,...saw where we're still in contact with ASU guy even though he committed to kiffin so I don’t know 🤣

Are you seeing quality QBs out there though? Or hearing of someone we might be looking at..... in or out of the portal right now?

I'm just wondering who is transferring now or might (ahem....) decide to enter the portal that's SEC ready?

I would hazard to guess most on VN have suffered through two decades of mediocre, inconsistent football from our beloved Vols so what is one more year in the big picture? Roll with and develop G-Mac and Faizon next year. If JA comes back, let them battle it out.

I think it’s time to move on from Aguilar. He turns 25 this year and should no longer be playing college football. I know Nico leaving threw a monkey wrench into Heupel’s plans this past season, but we should not be having to rely on a portal quarterback going into Heupel’s 6th season coaching here. The fact that this is an issue shows poor planning and/or talent evaluation on the coaching staff’s part.

This is in my 3 most intriguing questions for 2026.

1. Who will be the QB and can they at least do as well as Aguilar did in 2025?
2. How much improvement can Knowles get from a retooled defense?
3. What # of losses would have Danny White seriously considering a HC change?

How'd that go with GMac? Honestly, Heupel never seems to be in a position to or have the inclination to get his backup qb into blowout games and really let them run the offense.

the only name associated with Tennessee at this point is Pribula. I've not heard or seen anything on anyone else.

I'm not a evaluator of talent so I can't speak to what's in the portal being SEC ready. There are several QBs that were high school 4 stars in the portal. I've not checked any out to see what they have done in college.

still in portal

Husan Longstreet from UCLA was a true freshman and was a 5 star. Played behind Nico and I don't think he did much if anything

Brady Allen from Louisville is a R/JR and been mostly a backup. Transferred more than once and was at Louisville this season.

Jadyn Davis SO from MIchigan a high school 4 star was beat out by freshman this season

Nick Evers R/JR from Connecticut has bounced around. Not sure how much he played this year.

Ethan Grunkemeyer took over for Allar at Penn St when he got hurt this season. He was a R/FR and hasn't hooked up with anyone.

Eli Holstein at Pitt as a JR was signed by Bama. He was starter and I think he got hurt and lost his job at Pitt.

Air Noland signed Ohio St and transferred to S Carolina. Couldn't beat out Sellers. was a R/FR

Malachi Singleton played some against us at Arkansas in 2024 when Green got hurt. Transferred to Purdue and didn't do much this year.

That is some in Portal not hooked up with anyone yet that could be possible to come in and compete. all high school 4 stars and there are several more in there also. Just becuase someone is committed somewhere doesn't mean anything until they sign a deal or enroll. We could still call them even if it goes no where..
