No Dawgs on this Team

As I have watched Alabama run over our players it is evident we don’t have players that want it more than they want anything else. We are physically destroyed. And this is both sides of the field. I miss the days of Al Wilson, Leonard Little, Eric Berry…
Bishop is!!!!

Vols will be lucky to beat Kentucky. Tennessee is a mid-level SEC team and has numerous fundamental problems such as tackling and catching a football. Oh yeah - special teams is mediocre too.

Be a lot tougher game than most in here would like to admit..Could actually let Bama beat them twice. Vols stink it up on the road..

We got to get bigger, stronger and faster on D. I realize we’re young on D, but at this point everybody has gotten their feet wet. You got to make tackles and contain the edge. GBO

Heupel is a good coach, but if assistants can’t get it done bring in somebody else. One Johnny Majors did, he demanded a lot out of his assistants and he expected results or he would get another one. Not calling for anybody yet, but coaches and the team need to address a few things that are keeping us from being a very good team. Offense needs a few new wrinkles, but mainly cut out the mistakes and tight end drops. GBO

Bishop is a dawg but I think it's too little too late at this point.
Not too late IMO. To be, this was always no better than an 8 win team even with the light schedule. This is exactly where I thought we'd be so I'm fine with the record. It's how bad we are on defense that so frustrating. Even with the lack of talent/youth, I'd hope we could at least know how to line up and tackle well. Just do the little things well. Is that too much to ask?

It's pretty clear that teams have a good handle on Heupels warp speed offense and he's trying to adapt. I also believe he's calling a lot of plays and it's impacting his game awareness/management. So instead of grooming Joey to run a system that no longer works, why not bring in an experienced OC and give him complete control over the offense and just be a head coach? Delegate and trust your hires.

Our system was leading the country in scoring going into this game. To say the system no longer works is incorrect. Our biggest problems on offense are drops and silly execution penalties. We out gained bama on Total yardage and rushing yardage. And they only passed for about 20-30 yards more than us. We could stand to add a few sweeps and maybe a few misdirection plays, but moving the ball isn’t a big problem. Shooting ourselves in the foot is our biggest problem. GBO

Wouldn't go that far. UT is a good team, but a very young team facing a lot of injuries in a meat grinder of a league. I also think this staff wants to do certain things but isn't confident this roster can do them. They're between a rock and a hard place. One thing is certain. With the remaining schedule, if Heupel gets this roster to 9 or more wins, he's a miracle worker. Having said that, I do see UK being in a perfect spot to be the annual Heupel stinker.

Good remarks Cav, but we would have to smell like a sewer to out do that stinker performance last night. With KY, who knows what we do or how we show up?

This might be the most positive post you’ve ever made.

Yeah they got bullied man. I know this sounds crazy, but hear me out, most of the time, the size of the heart or "dawg" can be overcome by being bigger and stronger than the heart. Doesn't matter how bad you want if the other guy wants it too and is better than you.

We did not bring the same physicality we brought to UGA. That was evident for sure.

You realize we haven’t beat an opponent anywhere close to a ranked top 25? That’s the problem. We lose the games we’re supposed to lose, and try to lose the games we’re supposed to win.
