No Cup Drivers From Tennessee

NASCAR hates us because it considers TN only a borderline redneck state.

Guess it's too late to try to find my old driving suit. Probably will not fit anyway, make that surely won't fit.

I'll get you a new one. Hell, maybe you can just wear one of my nomex flight suits. Chicks dig 'em and the jackets are cooler.

I remember lots of mother F'ing myself for putting anything in my CVC pockets when the time came to get it out.

If Brad Teague can do it, you can.

I remember watching Brad racing a 57 Chevy Street Stocker at the old Sportsman Speedway when he and I were still in college. He was top of that class.

I knew Connie Saylor as well. He was at my office about 6 months before he died of cancer.

I found it interesting in that article that tracks are popping up all over and doing well in California. I thought they all liked too fast too furious street racing out there.

Also, it is looking like Nashville Speedway at the state fairgrounds will be closing, along with the fairgrounds. The property is losing money so you can't blame the city but guys like Sterling Marlin and DW are trying to save it. I hope they find a way to keep the track maybe through a private owner even if they demolish the rest of the fairgrounds.

I can't see not operating the Speedway. They have the IRL, Two Nationwide races, two truck races.... There are tracks with less action still in business.

Nashville Superspeedway is fine in Gladeville but the smaller and older Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is about to be demolished. Sorry, I should have put fairgrounds in there.

I miss seeing the UT sponsored car running at Bristol. Seems it's been at least 10-15 years since it's run there.

Maybe if you give open wheel it's drivers and sponsors back, you can have as many southern drivers as you want.

Not sure why you're suggesting that I'm crying about it? If the NHL was suddenly full of players from Florida instead of Canada, I would find that interesting too. Doesn't mean I care where they come from. Maybe the likes of Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon would be in open wheel if it didn't suck.

Fixed. Kasey Kahne and Scott Speed would be better examples.

nobody finding a ride for Jeff Gordon was an incredibly stupid mistake for open wheel racing. they kid (at the time) was practically holding out a tin cup on the sidewalk begging for a ride.
