I'm simply saying there's a better chance of Rush Limbaugh becoming a liberal than Gerald Jones posting a 4.4 in a legitimate electronically timed 40.

It was a misconception that he ever had speed. His bulking up did not change that. He was quick but never fast. The combine would hurt him and not help him. He will have a chance to make an impression on a practice squad.

That Bulk will help him out at the next level, there's a reason why he was our 3rd down back, He could not be pushed off his rout. got hurt a bit, but proved he can play through injuries. and the QB carousel he played with will stunt anyone's growth. Wish him and D Mo the best at the next level.

I still think he's good enough to be in the combine. Sad really. He has been through a lot the 4 years he has been here. I honestly think he is just as good or pretty dang close to being as good as Randall Cobb. I know Cobb has been great at Kentucky, but he is the most athletic player on Kentucky's team and they use him for everything. If you put Gerald Jones on Kentucky's team the last 4 years in place of Cobb then he would have studded out there too and probably be drafted no question. If Cobb had come to UT and been playing amongst better talent and gone through all the coaching changes Jones has he wouldn't be declaring for the NFL draft this year either, IMO. Could be wrong but that's the way I see it.

G Jones will have his pro day and a FA contract to show scouts what he's got. He might just make a roster.

Gerald Jones was a good four year player for us, he played his role well and did what the coaches wanted him to. He led the team in receptions this year and has always been a good outlet for our quarterbacks to hit.

Those of you who are bashing him about not living up to potential might need to do a little research on some other players and how they have performed/lasted for us.

Kenny O'Neal, rated a 6.1 signing with us the same year Jones did, and what did he do for us? Nothing.

Ahmad Paige, a 5.9 (The same as GJ), and number 14 receiver, didn't last on the team

And those are just 2 receivers from his same class that he signed with, there are countless other highly rated prospects we have signed who didn't do anything for us, stay with the team, or they've helped give our program a bad name.

To have Gerald Jones play 4 year for us was privilege in my opinion and I think he did a fine job. He is the kind of player most college coaches would love to have.

A friend of mine swears Rush Limbaugh started out as a liberal commentator. I've never researched it though.

You're right that GJ won't run a 4.4 in the combine. I'd be shocked if that happened.

When Gerald Jones was injured during last season, our third down conversion rate was pathetic. As soon as Jones returned with a metal pin in his broken hand(that had to hurt) skaddoosh...the offense started converting on third down. Third and short, third and long, it didn't matter; Gerald Jones was money, and having him back seemed to make the other receivers more effective. He is one of the great guys in the graduating class.

Kidding me right. I thought he was quick in HS not overly fast. He and Santana Moss should never be compared. Santana was far and away a better player than Jones. Not even close.

Note the key word... "Kinda" as in similar size, and play style.

I would not compare GJ with Andre Johnson or Randy Moss or Justin Hunter for that matter

I wouldn't compare the two because I remember Santana in college. His style of play was a bit different. He was dynamic on reverses and all. I would compare GJ to TJ Houshmandzadeh with even less speed. Think about it.

No worries. Even with him not making it to the NFL, somebody is going to catch him and Trooper Taylor coming across the middle. The middle of an Airport, a bar, etc.

Stop the press, you watched Santana in college, well that was 10 years ago. I have watched Santana every Sunday for the past 5 years, they are similar.

So, I have thought about it and the only resemblance of TJ to GJ is the fact that both got beat with the Ugly Stick

I can't wait to see what he does at his pro day. I'd say he needs to run about a 4.5 or so to get drafted late.

What pro day? He ain't getting through the front gate after the treacherous stunt he pulled. You think any NFL team would want someone who would stab his own team in the back?
