No Black Coaches

This is one of the most ignorant threads ever. Is UF racist? are other posters on here racist? and most of what I read was just ignorant fluff. the one post on here said you should hire the best man for the job regardless of race and he was called racist for that. Yet in reality, that is the least racist post I read. Isn't that the goal - all equal regardless of race?? If a person of color is the best for the job - hire him/her...if its a white person, hire him/her. Race should not affect how one is viewed for a job, in life, in anything.

You know what's racist? the rule imposed by white NFL executives that NFL owners and GM's must interview at least one person of color for every job opening. That is racist...it does NOTHING to improve equality. Most teams target a Coach and then grant token interviews to a current coordinator and then a minority candidate for compliance purposes - then give the job to an established white head coach with years of experience. Same in the NCAA - they follow a similar policy. But little progress is made.

What the rule and all it implies is racist...its basically saying that minority candidates are probably not deserving of an interview based on merit alone - so we are going to force you to interview them any way....just so it looks good. There are plenty of minority coaches who would be great to lead programs and who should get a shot based not on a rule, or on color, but on merit..on what they can do and have accomplished.

I honestly look forward, maybe naively to a day when we never have to wonder is he a minority coach, a white coach, did Strong marry a white woman...who cares - there is one race...the human race. accept it and put all this crap away.

As far as should other schools use that as a recruiting point - i think you can figure out I'm going to say no...that just keeps racist thinking going and adds to the problem - solves nothing

I am thinking of an adjective to describe your post...I'll not write the words.

I'll give you a hint...starts with an "R" ands with an "ACIST."

:hi:well most people know that urbin has some problem with color I dont know to what extent but he does. enough said about that. I really dont think he is racist. He just thinks he is better than everyone else. I would like to see Terry Fair coaching at UT and recruiting. He was a great player at UT a pro bowler in the NFL. A Very cleancut guy. A great leader and a great example for all kids. If he is not there now why? I know its not color.

If you look deep into the screen of the laptop...it will say "Volnation".

Look into your own heart "trevols81" (if that really is your name)...you may see the very words Volnation burning into your hateful soul.

Pigs the whole lot of you.

I cast the away, Vilenation!

how was what i said hateful?? i was clearly stating what UF campus police had already confirmed. lay off the hate yourself, bud.

BTW, "trevols81" is not my real name... i know, shocking.

I think it may have been the tone of your voice.
assuming Charlie Strong does take fellow black UF assistants Vance Bedford and Kenny Carter we've still got Steve Addazzio and Zach Azzanni. They are Italian which is still considered black in certain parts of the South.

That's a good point. Plus, if the race card gets played against you, you can always counter that your staff is multi-cultural and makes better pizza.

Want to talk about racist? What about 98% of a certain race voting for a CERTAIN President candidate because of his skin color....

Yeah, right. Remember 400 years of oppression that all the people on VolNation, Urban Meyer, and the rest of his lot subjected the black man to. Whether you like it or not, it is all of our fault. We are responsible.

In order to rectify our follies we, as a society, have collectively agreed to grant preference to present day victims of our white bigotry. We are merely pointing out that Meyer hates all-things black. Hell, I hear Nick Saban was recently spotted at a fundraiser for David Duke and prominent members of the Aryan Brotherhood. We should use this as a recruiting tool as well.

Keep trying to hide your racism VolAlum. I bet you have a beef with the Jews as well.

C'mon man. Get your head out of the sand. There are plenty of places you can't find a can of Chef Boyardee if your life depended on it.

right, I'm racist....here is a few adjectives for you, ignorant, uneducated. calling me racist is about the stupidest thing anyone has ever said to me in my entire life - it couldn't be further from the truth. Obviously, you have an agenda...maybe you don't like white folks, maybe you even assume I'm white...idk, but my post is in no way racist - demanding equality among all ethnic groups and wanting society to move beyond color and view each other as people not black people, white people, mexican people...yeah thats very racist....

I am prejudice however - against stupidity, which is where your comment comes from

It was obviously hateful. I'll assume you're moments away from breaking out your favorite white bed sheet and riding around on your Stallion proclaiming white purity.

This post oozes anti-Semitism. You're probably a Holocaust denier -- believing it's a lie perpetrated by the Jews who control 80% of the world's wealth.

Yep, I hate all minority groups...jews especially - you are flat out ignorant. - again you show your bias in assuming I am white or some all-american cracker. - Fail

So, tell me, 400 years ago, what did Urban Meyer, all the people on Vol Nation, and others do to black people in America?? I'm sure they must have taught you that in your racism in america class. Contrary to that opinion, WE, as you put it, are not responsible for atrocities of white plantation owners 400 years ago. White plantation owners are responsible. However, as a collective, WE as a anglo-european dominated society have decided the just thing to do is take that burden upon ourselves to seek to in some way rectify the wrongs of past generations.

That is the right thing to do. What is the goal of all this if not leveling the playing field and bringing about actual equality, not in word but in deed?? However, enacting laws that give the appearance of promoting equality, and yet do nothing more than continue oppression of minorities is unacceptable. Laws that give the racist white business owners a loop hole to being just. Stop for one second and ask yourself how many Minority coaches have been hired JUST BECAUSE of that rule?? None - The one that have been hired have been hired on their merits - most were even leading candidates before the interview process.

Do you think its more racist to say Lovie Smith, and Romeo Crennel and Turner Gill got where they are because of the rule that says they had to get interviewed or they needed a minority on staff...OR that they earned their position on their own merit??

If you fail to see how racist the first statement there is the racist one and how condescending it is...well you are ignorant.

So the only thing the rule accomplishes is letting the UFs, and Bamas, and the racist institutions, especially in the south sad to say, get away with interviewing minority candidates to fulfill a compliance issue then saying well, look we interviewed a minority candidate anhe wasn't for us - we are hiring this white guy. It doesn't require they ACTUALLY consider a minority candidate - just interview one....its the racist loop hole...the rule does not go far enough...its a sham

my last reply to you...my family is Holocaust survivors - ass!!, My grandparents were in a camp, my father was in a camp as a young child...I am first generation born in this country - but I am an anti-semite and racist, how ignorant...if I couldn't see how deep your ignorance runs I would be very offended.

but see, i didn't come out and say that because I knew the real racists who have their own agenda would keep blasting me. You need to get your head out of your rectum and maybe read a book, or be open to an opinion other than your own, or some mumbo jumbo you heard in a freshman level survey class once. Go to the womens studies dept or africana studies dept and ask an advisor to sit in on a class discussion on the racism inherent in many affirmative action laws...better yet as for books on the topic written by african american or female authors...i'd recommend a few, but you need to learn to think and do for yourself

LOL... Epic!

I'm debating on whether to keep this going or not.

Hint: The fact that you can't see the 7 pages of facetious responses -- along with proclaiming to be a college graduate -- is downright scary and a little more than disconcerting. You racist...

I heard that his real name isn't even Urban. He just uses that name to try and appeal to inner city families.

Who cares... black kids are going to play for the best coaches, regardless of race. Take a look at the HBCUs. Horrible football, all black. If black players were so adamant about playing for black coaches, HBCU football wouldn't be so terrible.

PS I always get tickled when I see the term HBCU colleges. Imagine the uproar if we had HWCU colleges. Then I realized, that's probably the rest of the universities in the nation.

My friend,

Surely you saw I was joking. Nowhere did I attempt to make a logical, well-thought-out argument.

Fact...90% of the posts on here were facetious
Fact...I knew it was going to get out of hand
Fact...That's why I enjoy reading post's more than posting
Fact...Unless we're talking about Rod Wilks, by the way, did anybody see who made the first tackle on kickoff at the Chikfila Bowl?
When Cunningham kicked it, Rod ran from Knoxville down to Atlanta, Stretched, Put on his Uniform(No, he doesn't put his pants on one leg at a time), Tied his shoes, and BAM!! Beat everyone downfield to gently pushover the return man.
