Idk...he’s not getting knocked all around and he’s also got a better perimeter game than I expected so he’s not just having to play the post. We’ve seen guys like JP Prince & Jordan McRae for years he told to gain 25lbs, some guys just aren’t able to do it, but they still played at a very high level. As long as Gaines continues to lift and get stronger he will be fine at his body type, I’m not saying he can’t add a few pounds but I just don’t see him adding on 30lbs while at UT.
I don't see him adding a bunch of weight, either. Watching him on defense or in tight spaces with his height and wingspan is just tough on his opponents. His court awareness is also outstanding and he plays hard.

Every time I watch Gaines play I get concerned one awkward step might break him in half. It's hard to put on the pounds for some people, but if anyone needs to try and do so it's him. I think he'll be a solid player here. I'm not as high on him as I am ORN, and I don't think Gaines is a future NBA player like some, but I do think next year he'll provide us valuable minutes when Springer and Johnson need a breather. Our depth next year is going to be insane. We might have an 11-12 man rotation, which is something Barnes is not used to lol.

I was just thinking about this as well. We are losing bowden and turner, but we are throwing in Bailey, Plasvic, Springer, Walker, Johnson, and Vescovi (if he somehow cant play this year) along with everyone else back. Our depth will be crazy.

That I’m just a good fan.......to be a great fan I still got lots of work to do.

In just 8 games he already has a double double.....I've watched more than a thousand, and have yet to pick up my first double double.
I can drink 10 beers and take 10 shots of likker on a good night. Might try against Memphis. What I gotta do to get a triple double? I ain't snorting or puffing anything if you're headed that way.

The caliber of players that Barnes has is not surprising. He's a blessing to Tennessee fans.

Agree with the comments about ON...you can just tell he's got more to deliver, just learning the system and the speed of the game. Speaking of speed, this guy BURNS it down the court!

O.N. reminds me more of Tim Duncan than anyone I can think of. The way he moves, is shaped, and plays upright posture wise Don't really see GW at all, but I'd like to think he'll develop like that.

And NO I'm not suggesting what some will retort with.

Hopefully seeing how good the freshman class has been will calm people down when we take commits from 3*

If Barnes wants a guy, that should be good enough for us at this point.

They won't all pan out and that's fine. But I believe most of them will.
^This. It’s because we have a COACH again. We might actually have four on campus now with BB, football, baseball and women’s bb. Great to be a VOL.

I I think he is already ahead of where GW was as a freshman. If he works as hard as Grant did I think he'll actually end up possibly being a better player than Grant was. Heard to imagine but I think he has more upside
He could have more upside in terms of professional basketball but college basketball players like Grant Williams don't come a dime a dozen. It could be years before we have a player that productive.
