Young will be our best defender this year, IMOIf this does pan out then I'm pretty confident in our overall LB corp...I think we're at least two deep at every LB type we need:
ILB: Banks-Mitchell-French-Willis
OLB (edge rusher type): Joseph-Harrison-Young/Eason (if you want more depth these two can be cross trained as DE/LB hybrids)
OLB (coverage guys): Beasley-Page-McDonald/McCullough (if you want more depth these two can be cross trained as safety/LB hybrids for obvious passing downs)
I guess the big questions would be the health and lack of time in the new system for Banks since he missed spring practice...we also don't know for sure what will happen with Beasley, French and Willis so we'll see how that goes...
All in all I say there's alot to work with here
That wasn't based on any recruiting fluidity. Kid hadn't said one thing of the other about Tennessee. People on VQ kept asking if we were involved in that recruitment and they kept saying we have offered but they haven't talked to the kid and that they don't see him coming here.Recruiting is fluid. Kids change their minds all the time. That’s why I find it hilarious when people knock Price and Hubbs. They go off of information they get at the time. No more no less.
So basically saying nobody would come to Tennessee? That wasn't based on any recruiting fluidity. Kid hadn't said one thing of the other about Tennessee. People on VQ kept asking if we were involved in that recruitment and they kept saying we have offered but they haven't talked to the kid and that they don't see him coming here.
OrangeStrike: Any updates on the transfer LB from Texas?
Callahan: Not sure exactly when Juwan Mitchell will announce a decision, but I think it will probably be fairly soon and I think Tennessee has a good chance of landing him. The Vols definitely should be viewed as the team to beat coming off his trip to Knoxville.
-RivalsFormer Texas linebacker Juwan Mitchell has been a hot name from the portal. Just last week I mentioned that Tennessee and Miami had turned up their level of interest with the Texas transfer. Now it looks like that this will be the Vols’ race to lose. The coaching staff has made him a priority and after visiting Knoxville for the Tennessee spring game (and hanging out with recent commit Joe Milton) it will take a drastic change of plans for him to end up elsewhere.
