Does the Tacoma get much better gas mileage? Reviews for both the Taco and Frontier seem very comparable.
if you're looking for anything aftermarket then go with the Toyota. They make everything for them because, as one vendor put it, "Toyota owners will buy anything." I've got an Xterra which is pretty similar and love it. You may want to check out ClubFrontier.org as there's always good info over there
I'm looking into trading in my car for a Nissan Frontier with low mileage. Anybody owned one with opinions on the truck and how it ran or heard anything? Reviews online seem pretty good and I like the look
I have a 2009 Frontier Crew Cab I purchased new. I have not had a single issue with it yet at 60,000 miles. I also considered Tacomas, which I really liked the look & feel of as well. That being said, new Tacoma's are pricey when compared to Frontiers. I have a V8 and gas mileage is okay. It's not stellar but I didn't expect the gas mileage of a Honda Accord when I bought it either.
I went thru this decision too. Frontiers look better to me on the exterior - Tacos on the interior. Toss up.
I've had 2 recent Tacos - a 2001 that I bought used from a Toyota dealer, used sparingly for 3 years (about 5k miles) and sold for 500 more than I paid for it (it was a desirable model - 4x4, 5spd, 2.7) and a 2012 purchased new at the end of 2012 that I had to get rid of in a short (3 months) period of time. I sold it for exactly what I paid for it new from a dealer. Having bought and sold more than 30 cars, these are the only two that held value that way. If you are not planning to keep it for a long time then the Taco is worth the premium.
I'm leaning towards holding it for quite some time as my primary vehicle. Thanks for the valuable info.
I found a new 2012 one at Oak Ridge Nissan for 25,000 with 0% interest... That is pretty tough to pass up I think, especially if I could work them down 2,000 more.
Well, I bought the Frontier yesterday. Got it brand new for 22,100. I think thats a steal, pretty excited and a great ride so far. Here's to hoping it was a good investment
Not to completely hijack, but has anybody had experience with some midsize suv's?
Nissan pathfinder
Xterra
Toyota 4runner
Ford escape
Etc.
Something that gets decent milage but has room for people and stuff. Advice?
