Nirvana was amazing. Pearl Jam's first two albums were amazing. Alice and Chains was pretty good.
Everything else that followed was crap.
You also were not alive when Nirvana was popular if you believe it was his death that made them popular. Nirvana's first album changed the music industry.
So true Bleach was an amazing album. it was heavy like the punk music before it. but Nevermind and In Utero had a pop feel to it but still maintained the heavy sound. I guess thats why it was so great. Nirvana is most definitely an amazing band and Kurt Cobain was taken far too soon and way too young.
who banged Billy Corgan while married to him?
IMO Nirvana changed the face of rock music forever. i mean its pretty amazing when 3 virtually unknown men from seattle can kill an entire genre of music (80's glam). so it goes without saying to me Nirvana will always be that one band that will stick with me forever.
Umm, there were grunge albums/bands before Bleach/Nirvana.
Screaming Trees - 1985
Melvins - 1985
Soundgarden - 1985/87
Mother Love Bone - 1988
Mudhoney - 1988
Also, Bleach sold less than most of the debut albums by the artists I just listed. Nevermind was as big a deal as it was because of MTV, but Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam had achieved mainstream success by the time that album was out.
Their "Smells like Teen Spirit", made Rolling Stone's top 500 songs list of all time..came IN AT #9
To each his own my friend. Other bands from that era I like better than Nirvana are Alice in chains, Stone Temple Piolets, Temple of the dog and sound garden. For Yankee vol
