Was talking with some guys at work close to my age 39, and we got into coming up with all the cheat codes. I still remember contra and punchout...they are almost the same..yall remember codes to any of the other games on the list? Metroid was justin bailey..just remembered that lol...guess you couldnt hook a game genie up to the new console. Some of the old games were insanely hard...i dont mean time consuming like zelda..i mean "you get 3 lives and 3 continues, and there are 37 levels to this game" hard.

Ninja Gaiden is definitely one of the hardest games I ever played and it was 3 lives and that's it. I think you could continue but it would put you all the way back to the beginning of the level and there were several parts where in today's games you'd at least get a "check point". But Battletoads has to be the hardest game I've ever played, I couldn't beat it with a Game Genie. To this day I think it's the only game I've never beaten where I actually tried to.

Castlevania and Castlevania 3 are no picnic but at least you could continue, and 3 had passwords. The Dracula fight on C3 was insane though.

I think I'm going to take a pass on this one but if Nintendo announces an SNES version of this I'll be all over it!

Agree on Contra, Battletoads, TMNT 2, and Ducktales. Needs Kung Fu (super underrated) and River City Ransom.

I bought an NES recently and got a bunch of these games with it.

Fuggin' A!! My favorite NES game of all time.

Missing:
Super Dodgeball
Contra (wtf)
RBI Baseball
Ice Hockey/Blades of Steel
Skate or Die 2
Tecmo World Wrasslin'

RBI baseball is still the most entertaining baseball game i have ever played on a game system

RBI will never be made again. Imagine the costs to get the rights on all those players. Just about every AS player is in the HOF. I have no idea how many games we played of RBI in college and after. Thousands between a few of us.

I thought the original RBI had generic teams/players...?

I was going to order RSR when I got my NES but it was like $300. It wasn't that much fun lol

Not only that, but they have made a couple of RBI baseballs for mobile in the last few years. Using his logic, they wouldn't be including Tecmo bowl....

I believe the original got licensed by the MLB Players Association but not MLB itself. So I think it had real players but generic teams, like the first Tecmo Bowl.

Checked back on it and the original RBI did have real player names. Still though, shouldn't be an issue with this nes game for the reasons of licensing because that would exclude Tecmo Bowl as well.

No, it shouldn't, because this version of Tecmo Bowl will be the same version that was released on the Virtual Console that has no player names.

Base Wars was my fav baseball game. I mean robots that fought to the death if a play was close? Come on. That's hard to top. Unless you're talking realistic baseball then it's RBI 3. Just start the game with Dave Stewart and bring in eckersley to close. A's dominated that game. Henderson, McGwire, Canseco. Good stuff.

I loved starting fights on Blades of Steel, and loved that the goalie automatically flattened you if you tried to hit him.

I never realized it went down like that!

The loser of the fight in Mutant League Hockey, well...um, died!

I've been saying for awhile SEGA needs to bring back the Mutant League series

I might jump on this if it drops to around $30 for a Black Friday sale. However this would have been awesome if they would have made it where you could play original NES game cartridges on it.

I still have my original NES & games somewhere in my basement or garage. I used to be a big gamer as a kid up to 6-8 years ago. I had NES, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Playstation, PS2 and even bought a PS3 a couple of years ago when it was around a $150 on Black Friday and I just never got around to opening it and its setting under a bed still in the box.

At this point, you might as well keep it unopened and sit on it for another 20-30 years. Will be worth $$$ unopened

I just want a game where I can get 10 yard fight on... Love that game... Oh yeah, and double dribble.

Really hoping this is a quality product. The Sega Classic Console that came out awhile back has some preloaded games and would play Genesis carts but wouldn't read them properly in many cases.
