Some posters think that NIL is within the domain/control of the school. However, it can travel with an athlete transferring to a new school. Haley and Hanna Cavinder, who had NIL deals from day 1, were 2 MWC women's basketball stars with $1M NIL deals while playing at Fresno State. They are transferring to Miami, where their NIL deals are expected to increase greatly. Their current NILs are with national brands and will follow them since NIL is not tied to a school
