I see our fair senator is focusing on the important issues at hand, again.

How about we keep the federal government out of college sports?
Something does need to be done and States are already involved passing bills in attempts to give their state schools competitive advantages. But yes, devil is in the details with these bills.

No transfer for first 3 years. Way too invasive and restrictive. Dumb (on-brand for Tuberville) bill.

This will never pass. Would be challenged and struck down in SC if it did.

The other one introduced last week has a better shot at passing.

Think you are misreading the 3 year waiver. You can transfer 1 school year and play the following school year. (Pretty much the current rule). You can’t play immediately at the new school year unless you meet one of the waiver requirements. If you have completed 3 years at one school and transfer during your 4th year then you can play that year at the new school, you don’t have to wait until the following year to play.
For example, Freshman basketball player signs/enrolls at UT and a month before basketball starts, he transfers to Bama. Under this bill he has to wait until Sophomore season before playing. However if he has completed 3 years at UT and decides during his Senior year a month before basketball starts to transfer, then he meets the 3 year waiver requirement and play the current year at his new school.
At least that is how I read it.

I keep my senator in my hip pocket, just in case!
Today, a Senator in your hip pocket is like having a wallet with $200 and no credit cards. Most are just a proxy vote anyway.

Watching how "our" representatives debate and line up on this bill will tell us more about who was behind NIL.

But watching what the left hand is doing while we're watching the NIL debate on the news will be something that effects us far more. Big shiny distractions.

Sponsored by two "sterling" senate reps. One who was a coach who doesn't know the Constitution and the other a senator who tries to run the Senate from one of the most backward states whose people are majority -wise suffering.
