Where do you even verify these figures at? I've seen a similar list in a half dozen places, but the budgets are up to $10M of difference for individual schools from one reporting agency to the next. Does anybody actually know the answer or is everyone just speculating?!I just read where Tennessee was the 2nd highest basketball operating budget for FY25 at $23M and Michigan was 26th at $14.4M. They spent $10M on the roster for 2026 and won the National Championship. How much more money will the Vols need to do the same thing?
I hope they can find a way to establish and hold kids to the NIL contracts or it will be roster makeovers every year from here on.
Operating budgets include travel, lodging, meals etc. Nothing to do with rev share dollars or outside NIL dollars.I just read where Tennessee was the 2nd highest basketball operating budget for FY25 at $23M and Michigan was 26th at $14.4M.
