Nike vs Addidas vs UA

So I have never really bought in to the idea that recruits pick a college based on a schools apparel agreement. But I'm 30 and have 3 kids so I just buy wharever is cheapest. Well, I have a nephew who is 12 and he doesn't want to wear anything that isn't Nike.

2 questions - is there any evidence that Tennessee is missing out on kids because of addidas? Also I would be curious if anyone has compiled the final top 25 over the past few years and listed the apparel provider? I personally like Addidas gear for UT bit is it costing in the W/L department?

nephew = spoiled brat

I'll never get the whining about Adidas fan apparel.

Nike still makes Tennessee stuff. Go buy that.

Do you think recruits skip on GA Tech because they're Russell athletic?

Do you think recruits skip on GA Tech because they're Russell athletic?

I can answer this definitively - YES

GT fans gripe about Russel way more than UT fans gripe about Addidas. At least Addidas is a top brand. When recruits see Russel they think about the cheap crap they wore in pee wee football. And Russel doesn't make everything like Addidas and Nike. So gloves and shoes are another vendor.

Like UT with Addidas, GT has a sweetheart deal with Russel since the company is based in Atlanta. Tech gets way more money there than they would from the big 3. Not sure either GT or russel are getting their moneys worth

I love viewing posts from 40-60 year old men who don't think that a swoosh or style of uni matters to 17 and 18 year old kids. Folks, spend some time around these kids. Listen to the way they talk.

Cool and sex appeTennessee are the most important things in the world to them.

Remember how badly your wife wanted an Aigner bag or pair of shoes back 25 or 30 years ago. Multiply that by 10 and you've got the way most of these kids look at unis.

That's exactly my point! I was just surprised at how adamant my nephew was about everything having to be nike. And he even wanted to make sure the swoosh was showing! I think adidas makes great apparel and shoes, I think where they are hurting Tennessee is they aren't promoting themselves very well with adolescents.
