We need his athleticism to stop the run. Nigel still needs to learn the entire playbook and there will be some growing pains (like that breakdown vs South Carolina). However, the kid already looks like the surest tackler in our secondary. And with the way we've been getting run on this year we need as many sure tacklers as we can get.

Once Micah gets healthy, he should be starting alongside Nigel. A pairing on Nigel Warrior and Micah Abernathy would give us the most athletic pair of safeties in the SEC.

I'd rather not have teams getting to the third level that often.
They all need to tackle better
Shoop needs to call a better game

This is getting really old. Just because the backups backup plays well against freaking TN Tech does not mean he should be starting.

Agree, but that's just clearly not gonna happen. Hate to say it, but I kinda agree with OP....without the hyperbole at the end that is.

A. Warrior is a beast and DOES need to play

B. I do not know how anyone could have watched LSU & Bama play and then say our two safeties would be the most athletic in the SEC

Where does that leave TK Jr. in that scenario? Nickel? Gaulden to corner?

Like Warriors tackling and aggressive nature.
What worries me about our DB's especially Mosely is every time a sideline pass goes up where they have to run with a receiver it's almost an automatic yellow flag:mf_surrender:

Fans have no choice but to trust the staff on these decisions. One can argue experienced players getting beat vs younger, more talented players getting beat, but there's also a confidence component. Do you want a younger player losing confidence in his abilities by putting him in too early? Is it fair to do that to a young player? Don't have the answer, but it's not as easy just plugging a body into a position. Not real impressed with Shoop, but injuries are really limiting what the defense is capable of plus it puts an undue burden on the second and third levels. If we get Sutton back next week and Kirkland is more ready to play like his old self plus a couple of others who are limited with injuries, I think we see a better performance from this defense. We are going to need our best performances of the season to win out. Really....REALLY....need the special teams to be a difference maker from here on out as well.

You don't get D4H without the ridiculous hyperbole. They are one in the same. Every original idea he has about a player(s) means they'll be the best human beings in history to do what he says they'll do. Just four months ago, Jalen Hurd and Josh Dobbs were 1st round picks to him.

If we're using Nigel to stop the run then we are in serious trouble.
