I don't think so. Unlike pro sports, players are not employed - nor paid - by schools. NIL agreements are between private parties and the athlete. So what's to collude on?

They already are an enforceable contract between the NIL entity and the player..
UT didn't pay Nico a dime. If he broke the contract, that's between him and Spyre.

So... let's say a Spyre contracted athlete gets kicked off a team by the coach. The coach is not involved with their contract. But...
- Could Spyre sue the coach for the money they spent on the athlete who is now going elsewhere?
- Could Spyre sue the coach (or UTAD) for discovery, to learn why the athlete was kicked off if it wasn't public record?
- and could Spyre sue them again if they feel the penalty was too severe for the violation?

Lots of companies get hurt by things like this. I wonder if any might try to sue the athlete or his agent? Saw this in my WalMart today...

I kinda doubt we'll see many #8s flyin' off the rack--especially for $32!
Someone lost a ton of money Friday. Maybe it will be Tennessee WalMarts, but what about all the smaller companies making product with the proper license? Where's their protection?

No. Even though we know it's a legal way to pay for play, NIL groups are not paying players to play or even be on a team (wink, wink).

It's up to NIL groups to know how to structure their contracts for the protection of themselves and donor base. Those contracts have nothing to do with the university; it is legally impossible for the school to damage the NIL and player contract agreement. The school is not party to the agreement.

Their protection is not to get out over their skis, like every other business. Their product decisions are their responsibility.
I'd mark those down to 2/$5 and open valuable rack space for saleable items.

Coaches gossip more than old women. Nic tried to fly Miami offered $3 mil earlier this year. It took Tennessee about 2 phone calls to learn it was $1.5. You’d think Nic would have learned.

I'm sure Walmart will survive. The Trump china tariff must already be hitting if they want $32 for a T-shirt. The Pearce shirt should be on the clearance rack.

There is no collusion to that at all. Actually it shows that the Nico camp was not negotiating in good faith with false information.

Since it’s rumored that Nico considered sitting out the bowl game and was looking around. Is that when his “salary” went from $2 mill to $2.4 mill? Or does anyone know when the salary was elevated.

Nicos family screwed him terribly. He is far from unique though. Not much different than Squirrel honestly. What about Judkins at OM? He demanded a big raise too, and they told him to kick rocks. He won a Chip with the buckeyes. What REALLY screwed Nico was the timing and the boycott of practice. If its true that Nicos family threatened to skip the playoff game, Nico should have been sent packing as soon as they got back to Knoxville. No VFL would EVER miss a playoff game. Ronnie Lott cut off an infected finger to NOT miss a playoff game....in the NFL with the 49ers. Thats commitment. Thats a team player. If the rumors are true about the playoffs then Nicos family is a cancer and he needs to get his head right also. Most of us would PAY UT $2 Million for the chance to play a season of football there...if only we could get financing LMAO. To be so greedy that $2.4M wasnt enough pay to play one season for the VOLS is insane.
