Nico not at practice today

I’m about done with following or caring about football if this is what it’s going to be. Ridiculous.

They're going to have to put rules in place that treats them the same as pro athletes because that's what they are now. Someone for the Packers can't decide 1 year into a 3 year contract they want to play for the Bears.

Rule should be you have to have x amount of college hours and above x GPA to transfer without sitting out a year. It is still sorta college football.
That should be true for all students. Don't party your tail off at MTSU for a couple of years and transfer to UT with only 12 good credits and a 1.8 GPA to "get serious about school."

You had your chance and wasted it.

Tell you what if I was an offensive lineman I would open a gap up big enough for a truck to go thru to smoke his ass if he stays. Get no protection from me if this happened. It only that everyone will be haten on home now so he might as well leave

“More games being played off the field than on the field. Bi7ch Nakos from On3 Sports called and asked me directly, I told him I had no idea on what he’s talking about,” Nic tweeted. “He said his ‘close source’ that he trusts with his life from the University of Tennessee staff gave him this information. So y’all can ask them what’s going on, cuz it ain’t from us!” Nico's dad said this earlier .i agree with him to sounds like Nakos is a Bi7ch to

NFL players hold out all the time.

I'm kind of surprised these contracts don't seem to have any buyouts or penalties of any kind? If Nico has to write us a 7 fig check to leave, I doubt we're having this conversation.

If most are not choosing "school" route, then how are team GPAs so high. Many of the guys playing for the NFL also do well while in school. You're throwing out opinions straight from your hip
most meaning most of the big time players making big NIL money who never intended to use an education. 80% of college football players never have a shot at the NFL. they play football second and are students first. football pays for their education. But the players in the overall discussion about NIL which is what the context of this thread is, care about how to get the NFL the fastest possible route and many will leave without any degree because education was never the goal.

Just think how bad this is from Nico's perspective.

He will be eligible for the pros after this season and now instead of balling out with a playoff team where he knows the personnel, playbook, and system he has to go somewhere and start from scratch without benefit of even a spring practice. That has to at least move a pro career back a year over what amounts to crumbs in comparison to what he could make as a pro.

But the guy ran out of bounds on the last play of a game without even taking a shot in the endzone so it seems kind of fitting his career would get derailed by the same sort of choice.
This right here. In no way does this make sense at all for him and his career. Money grab for 1 million when you are (on some sites) ranked #2 draft prospect at QB in 2026? Lets say he balls out this year and goes top 5 in the draft. That is literally like a 20 - 30 million dollar contract. Does he expect to go somewhere else, learn the playbook and gain the respect of his teammates in like 4 months? Not to mention after the PR nightmare this has caused which will make it hard for anyone to trust him and his family again. NFL GMs are paying attention to everything and this is not a good look. It honestly negatively impacts him in every single way but his immediate bank account. Makes me thing he has some bad advisers around him because this is an insane blunder on his part IMO. Maybe he does go somewhere else ball out and it all works out for him but decisions like these make me question everything from the young man.

My guess is that he is gone and that the next fanbase which gets to be disappointed by him will be USC.

We will look for a qb in the portal. I guess it depends on how good the one we find is as to whether it is as a starter or just experienced depth given there is only a frosh behind Merk. Gaston made a really bad decision in leaving last year. Maybe he can transfer back. At least he knows the playbook and personnel.

I think that is part of the reason Sanders stock has fallen. Because of the potential of having to deal with Deion.
