What did you hear last spring? Nico was seeing the field better? Better than what? His bowl practices?
He was seeing the field better. He understood the offense better. Same stuff we hear every year about spring practice. And that's a good thing. That why there is a spring practice.

Gonna be honest, I don't care. When the O line starts getting better........call me. When the receivers and Nico get on the same page.......call me. He can't throw from his back and if they don't catch it or even get seperation it's all for nothing.
It rubs the lotion on it’s skin or else it gets the hose again

And yet, here you are, discussing the matter while not caring about it.

When they got separation Nico overthrowed them

I love the off season. Everybody gets better suddenly.
They do, but it doesn't always show up in the field. Part of that is the coaching putting them in position for success.

Nico ran way too much last year, because there was no where to throw the football and sometimes blocking wasn't there either.

The offense doesn't need a total makeover it just needs tune up. What Golesh was doing in 2022 was not what we've seen the past 2 season. And even in 2022 our offense would stall and often lead the defense hanging out to dry all game.

If we had the defensive depth of 2024 and the offense of 2022, then we probably best UGA last season and probably have a bye week and end playing Ohio State in the National Championship.

And we probably won't see that kind of team till 2026 season. But 2025 is going to be so much fun to watch all these young guys get baptized by fire

It does look like they are beefing him up a little.

Here he is in '23 when he started for us:

And here he was recently at spring camp:

Per UT stats he is 25 lbs heavier. Heck, he was pretty durable last season other than the concussion versus State. An extra 25 lbs of muscle can only help. Maybe the coaches will let him scramble more.

Yeah it looks good on him. He's 6'6" so that weight has probably made him even more explosive.

He ran the ball over 100 times last season. That's more than enough on average to keep the defense honest. Need to make the opposing defense start guessing like in 2022. I think Litrell is going to make a huge impact for this team.

Look much different than when he got here. I look forward to big things out of Nico, my prediction is title talk

I heard that last spring too.

Nico put up almost identical numbers last season as a freshman to Joe Miltons super senior year the season before. That season which got Joe drafted into the NFL...because his career up to that point was mediocre at best. We also made the playoffs for the 1st time ever...AND Nico was by far the most impressive UT player in our playoff game. This despite being tackled 20 times counting sacks and cracking 2 helmets.

I am tired of the small % of our fans bagging on Nico like he was the problem last season. He had a very good year for a freshman. Sure, he overthrew some WRs that would have been TDs in the 3 games leading up to Bama. We also won all those games except vs Arkansas, and Nimrod dropped 2 sure thing TDs himself in that Ark game that would have won it...among others dropping balls, THE worst Oline play I have EVER seen at UT in my 47 years at both Tackle positions etc. Nico didnt lose us the Arkansas game. Nor the UGA game. He played pretty well in both of our regular season losses actually.

I think our fanbase got REALLY spoiled watching Hooker put up 37TDs with only 3INTs...the best season by any UT passer in history bar none...and want to judge every QB by that standard every season. Hooker was also a 22yo Senior playing his 5th year of college ball. Nico was a freshman starting his 1st season of college ball. Totally different scenario. The small % of our fanbase that expects Hooker type seasons every year is gonna be disappointed quite often. Hopefully they keep it to themselves instead of whining here because reality doesnt match their ridiculous expectations...
