Dad announced he is staying at UCLA and opting not to turn pro. Probably wise decision all things considered.
Might not be a wise decision but one the few oplions available to him. The negatives of dealing with pops probably outweigh the benefits of what Nico brings to a team.

Yeah essentially he sucks. Who in the NFL wants to hire him after everything that has gone on. Maybe a clause saying his parents can't attend any games or otherwise have any contact with him.

If UCLA had an open competition in the Spring, the backup would win the job.

Isn't the backup his brother Madden??

Face it man, the Iameleva family has finished off what little was left of UCLA football. At least in terms of being a serious team. They are kinda like a football version of the Harlem Globetrotters who usually lose now. Neuhesels floppy haired kid, the Iameleva brothers, who knows how many other godawful messes.

Not sure his ego can take the hit of him going undrafted. It will likely be the same scenario next year for him. Reaction to this announcement is pretty meh as opposed to when Peyton made his announcement of the same intentions a few years ago.

You don’t see a lot of 6’6”, 214 lb NFL running backs. I watched a lot of his UCLA games. A lot of dump off passes to his running backs, followed by his running the ball. His average yardage per completion is pitifull.

Hmmm.

You made me question possible alternative history.

If Nico and family had not pulled their shenanigans and was still under center for UT in the 2025 season-

Say he made the announcement that he was staying here for another year.

Personally, I would be angry-like couch burning angry.

Imagine him being the mentor to Faizon.

I honestly don't think Nico is the ego in peril here; he strikes me as a guy that isn't all that interested in football and would rather be playing volleyball at the beach. And that's fine, nothing wrong with that.

Pops on the other hand, his ego and pocketbook won't be able to handle Nico going undrafted.

Dude needs to get as far away from his Pops as possible.

Lol...also saw where he "decided" not to play in a bowl game.
