Nick Stephens

Yeah there is reason for concern but he still has a whole year to be taught this system by Lane and the rest of the offensive staff. I think if he is the starter next year it will be because Lane believes in him as he did JC this year.

Herein lies the problem. It's clear that, up until now, Lane didn't feel that way at all.

The same defense or even slightly worse since some of Stephens plays were against the two's, that Crompton shreaded, Stephens looked very average against. The difference in Stephens and Crompton is even when Crompdaddy sucked he was still good in practice, something Stephens never has.

Stephens had an absolute cannon..

Hear me out.. if he can some how, sommmeee hoowwww, become a productive QB next year.. he will get drafted. If he can learn to make all the throws he will look like a Stafford. For some reason NFL scouts love strong Arms.

We had more than a few concerns with Crompton three games into this year. He looked more in control tonight than last year. He COULD be our qb next year, if he beats out the others coming in.

Yes, or it COULD be someone else if this person beats out the others coming in.

The INT near the endzone was horrible...But I think with time he will get better...Was really glad to see nuke catch some passes.

One thing I have learned this year, is from here on out I am going to trust Lane and his decisions. I was completely ruling Crompton as a lost cause, and the dude is really playing lights out. In fact, I wish for him that he had another year, because one more year like what he's doing now would get him a good draft in the NFL. I really feel for the kid. I see Stephens being our QB next year, because chances are the O Line will not be complete and that would be a very very tough situation to throw a young scrawny kid into.... I'm talking career ending injury possibility with that mix.

What's all this next year talk?

I have a source who says Lane was really impressed with NS and he will start against Ole Miss.

Like I have said before and I will say it again...he will start next year.

We RS Tyler Bray and then he starts as a RS Freshman.

Nick will have two years under the system with Lane, Reaves, Chaney. It will do him well

I think he is our QB next year unless a Juco comes in to compete. Perhaps Bray can takeover later if we stumble but feeding Bray as an 18 year old to UF early in the year is a scary thought.
Ainge was able to take care of UF his first year, and I've heard that Bray is an even better prospect than Ainge was.

With 3 regular season games left, I would like to see him play again. Off subject, but has anybody else noticed that florida and georgia's backup qb has gotten very little pt this year?

Fact...he has the better arm and is more accurate but he is much less mobile and cannot throw roll out passes well. He will most assuredly start for us in 2010.
