Nick Stephens

All I want is a quarterback to run the offense effectively. That means throwing to different receivers, not locking on one receiver, hitting an open receiver, knowing what the plays and reads are, and fundamentally handing the ball off to a running back. I honestly dont think that is too much to ask for.

Amen

You are exactly right. Crompton's problem is his horrible arm strength. Very similar to the fact that O'Neil's problem at WR last season was that he was just not fast enough.

Nice!!

Let's be honest about UT football:
2 things that are missing...only 2.

An identity on offence and a QB. That is it!. If you look at it in a certin way...they are really the same.

Lord help UT if Stephens can't play. BJ is third string for a reason and the cupboard is bare for recruits next year. BJ will prob transfer next year and so will JC if he is benched for the rest of the year. That leaves Nick and the frosh from TX (Petty??) if he keeps his commitment.

If I was a coach at UT...I would be hitting the top QB's that have already committed to schools and say...."YOU CAN START AS A FRESHMAN!" I hope they can change someones mind! A commitment today means as much as a promise from Obama/McCain........NOTHING!!!!!!

The problem is no prospect will believe that as long as Fulmer is calling the shots.

What....Peyton played as a frosh, so did Casey and Ainge. A freshman WILL play if he is the best.

BTW..I like CPF as a person. Remember this....at one time (not today maybe) he was a GREAT play caller!

How ironic that the one guy who got lost in the shuffle in the spring is going to be the midseason starter. There was only the Crompton camp and the Coleman camp here 6 months ago, so I have to hand it to Stephens for keeping his head up. It sounds like Crompton was a big whiner the last two years when he had to ride the pine. It will be interesting to see how both of those guys respond

If that Basilio blog is correct, it is yet another reason why Fulmer needs to be fired. The guy is so out of touch it is ridiculous.

Ok. I have been watching interviews and various videos of crompton and nick for the last hour or so. At this point all i can tell is that Crompton is a moron and has no competitive fire at all. In not one of his interviews does he ever talk about wanting to win and after the losses he does not even look like he is a QB who just played terrible and lost. This fact kills me especially when the other guys on the team are pissed and crompton just wants to go look at video. Stephens on the other hands seems to have the fire and poise that our defense has. He wants to win plian and simple. You can see it in his eyes when he is talking. Crompton isnt doing eveything in his power to win nick seems will do what it takes. IMO
