If he does start I am glad but I am not about to anticipate this to be the @nd coming. I will take it for what it is and hope he has a spark to get the offense going. @nd string QB's are always the most popular guy on the roster until they throw a pic! Not trying to be a downer but thinkning realisticly..I wish him the best!

Believe it when I see it. of course mabey they are reading the boards and were afraid of a real low turn out and noone buying the PPV if he wasn't announced the starter.

"mabey" so.

I don't expect us to go undefeated the rest of the way, but I don't think Stephens will hurt us the way Crompton has. Crompton actually has cost us points, let alone going 3 and out numerous times. With Stephens in, I think we have a better chance at not turning the ball over.

Also, I hope he gets the start the rest of the season, so we can prepare for the future.

If this holds true you'll see the stands packed and I wouldn't be surprised a standing "O" when Stephens hits the field. Of course you have "Lord Darth Fulmer" who will go with his "son" Sixth Crompton :fool:

"Sith Crompton...

You know, actually I'm kind've bugged for both Crompton's and the Vols' sake. Fulmer should have sat Crompton down for at least a few series early in the season after his second or third screwup. That's the normal way you give a kid a chance to get his head on straight. Plus, if Stephens is good enough for the decision this week to have been close (Crompton's great in practice), then it would have broken the Fulmer-cycle of giving backups almost no snaps before they're thrust in a starter.

Now, Crompton's a freaking pariah who'll probably never get his head on quite straight again- and we could've used having his latent talent developed properly. Plus, Stephens is thrust into a horrific situation for next week; Can you imagine how much built up crap will rain down on him unless he's perfect?

Either way, now there's going to be little kids in Kville dressing up as Crompton this Halloween, and I wouldn't blame the guy if he looked up our Great Pumpkin the next morning and kicked him right in the nuts.

But Good QB's come through when they need too...

Please see; Matt Cassle, Tom Brady, Aaron Rogers

The cynic in me believes the only reason Fulmer announced that Stephens would start the game was to increase attendance and to keep the fans from booing Crompton when his name was announced.

memphis, I can't imagine our fanbase has gotten so bad that it expects perfection from Stephens, especially next week. Personally I just want to see a real improvement in all phases of our offense with Stephens under center. If we get that, I can at least have some hope in the future of our offense. Of course, said improvement might be Fulmer's saving grace and that would suck.

If Stephens manages to move the offence downfield and not underthrow or overthrow his receivers, That's good enough for me. I sincerely hope those of you at the game will give'm a standing ovation just to see the coaches reaction, And who knows" that might spark Stephens and we might not see crompton again.
