Please run Creer! Please! Ican't take anymore of the announcer saying Foster tripped up from behind in the backfield.

In fairness, NS looked very servicable.

Stephens was ok, if you take away the two long throws he threw for 62 yards. Lets see what happens next week under much more extreme pressure.

i liked stephens so far....he threw the ball better and with my pop and accuracy than JC did. I will wait until after next week to see, but I will say if he is at qb i dont think we lose to auburn or ucla

Foster terrible OMG he was the only run game we had,so terrible huh? If I were you I would sue my eye doctor cause you need some really thick glasses. He ended with about 60yds and the line game him lttle room all night. So great assesment there. ESPN reporter is in your FUTURE. LOL LOL LOL  just add a espn logo on this guy and that would be close

Nick was ok but it was against NIU. I did have the one fumble but it was his first start. I will reserve my judgment for next week vs GA.

Um.. ok.. I think you are the one that needs some glasses. im pretty sure you are they guy marching around these forums preaching for Phil and Co. right? 60 yards is a freaking joke against NIU for a back that is suppose to be as good as he is.. you drink a heavy dose of the orange stuff every night bud.

You are right about he should have gotten more, but THE OFFENSIVE LINE IS NOT BLOCKING WORTH A CRAP. You cant get yards without the Oline blocking correct? McClendon is garbage and the others arent living up to hype. Proof is the 2 times Gerald ran from G Gun he didnt even get 10yds.

Im just talking about you calling people out like you just did. I know i saw you praising Fulmer on here not too long ago. Who is the o-line coach?

GREG ADKINS IS THE OLINE COACH. If they are playing like crap then it should be xposed. Yes I like Fulmer. I think he can bring the team back. Thats my IMO. Greg Adkins is the Oline coach why did you ask

I would agree with this post. However, we still really, really had a hard time getting touchdowns. The offensive stalls looked similar to the Auburn game.

All of these things show that we just need to clean house. Too many things wrong with this team, imo.

Take away the bomb to Moore and Stephens was average at best, but average QB play would have beaten UCLA and Auburn.

There were a couple plays were it looked like Stephens wasn't aware of down and distance and had receivers open underneath but he wanted to go long. You could argue though that he was just being too aggressive.

Stephens, and especially the offensive line, will have to play better if they are going to have a chance next week.

WOW sounds to me that you just dont want to take anything good from this. All I am saying is he is alot better than JC. I also dont know what other problems we have. The D plays well week in, week out. Special teams has made huge strides from last year and they get Colquitt back next week. QB was only week link to me.
Just calling it as it is. Good QB play and we only beat NIU 13-9. Yep, all is good in Big Orange Country once again.

Stephens was way better than Crompton. All of his throws were spot on, not dropping 5 yards in front of his receivers. The few that were underthrown (but still got there) were because he didn't get to step into his throw due to defensive pressure. He looked poised in the pocket, not like a deer in headlights.

You can try to break him down with stats all you want, but it was not his fault they severely limited the playbook, receivers dropped passes that hit them in the numbers or fumbled (although that was a good defensive effort on their part and I think the call was right), and the O-Line had a break down that lead to a fumble.

If this kid had been starting from Day 1, we would have beat UCLA and Auburn.

Stephens didn't lose the game for us. Considering it was his first game and considering he only threw the ball 18 times, I thought he had a pretty solid performance. Briscoe fumbling and a few dropped passes didn't help his case. That and our running game was nonexistent.

i gotta admit, i've been gone from k-town a long time (bill battle was the coach then), but what are they smoking there now? i mean, from reading these posts, one could get the idea that stephens is the second coming of peyton manning, or at least casey clausen. jeez! it was freaking northern illinois at neyland! 13-9! what the hell are they smoking?

I think Nick did a good job, especially in his first start. Nick went 10-17-156-0. Peyton was 7-14-? his first start...of course he's not Peyton. The important point is Nick took care of the football, very clean handoffs, no fumbles, no ints, and had some nice completions.

He had a touchdown pass too

I'll just call it a good start with reason for marginal optimism from the QB position. Outside of that, our offense still has serious problems.
