IndyStar confirmed Friday through a source that the Hoosiers plan to hire Nick Sheridan, who played under DeBord at Michigan and served as a graduate assistant with him at Tennessee, as its new quarterbacks coach. Sheridan comes to Bloomington from Central Michigan, where he had been hired to coach running backs just last month.

Well he got Central Michigan through signing day. Also this shows DeBord and Butch are so alike that we all knew. Don't like taking chances on new minds. Stay with people you're familiar with.

But yet everybody on here seemed to act like we lost Peyton manning the GA when he took the cmu job:loco:

Jones hired shoop and he didn't know him. I think you left out facts that didn't fit the narrative. Don't act like you know bj.

JG and his dad both love Sheridan and he was a big part of him coming to Tennessee.

Don't be surprised if Sheridan doesn't reel in a big time QB prospect up there in next years recruiting class.

He's not nearly as bad a QB coach as most on here MISlead everyone to believe.

Dobbs did get better and DeBord and Sheridan were the reasons Dobbs did get better and completed 60% of his passes.

Long balls are always a 50/50 deal and much of that is on the WR's willingness and abilities to go up and fight for the ball and bring it in.

All the LIES on here about not having a QB coach the last few years were just that...LIES!

VFL...GBO!!!

Would you turn down a raise and promotion just because you only recently changed jobs? I highly doubt it. I know I wouldn't.

Hell no I wouldn't turn it down, especially in the corporate world where employees get fired as soon as it misses it's earnings estimates. Wish the guy nothing but the best.

There is NO real loyalty on the part of large employers to the employed. The employee must be, after a predetermined acclimation and training period, an individual profit center for the corporation or most times you will be let go. Sometimes corporate training sucks, but if it does, you better get it on your own and still show positive results; even with a contract.

Why should an assistant coach, knowing he could be let loose, not look to elevate his career. Any man would be a fool not to.

Hmmm...wonder how well new corporate employees contracts would fare if they worked for the Volnation fanbase?

There is really no loyalty today either way. Companies are looking to improve their bottom line and employees are looking to improve their bottom line.

I'm pretty sure GA's only get a limited amount of time with players.
