It's all coachspeak morons. If Osama Bin Laden happened to become a head coach and Saban's team played them, he would say the same thing. Quit trying to convince yourself and everyone else that "Dooley is the man!" and "He's righting the ship!" and "Dooley's building a fence!" or even my favorite, "I can already see the big difference".

The truth is we have no idea yet, none whatsoever, so STOP. I'm all for CDD doing well, but my God, can we stop making things up and just wait and see? You all blast the "negavols" because they don't give him time, well it's the same thing for your argument too. Just freaking hold on and wait, your answer will come. My God...

Put that under the same category as saying "Good game!" after he beats us by 40+. It's the nice thing to say but might not necessarily be truthful.

Really? Who else is he saying it about? Who else is he saying it about that he took with him to the NFL?

The guy thinks highly of Dooley. There isn't much question about that. He could definitely be wrong since he never employed DD as a HC. Dooley could definitely be overwhelmed by the situation he inherited. But Saban's comments genuine expressions of confidence and even better- respect.

Saban had no respect for Fulmer and about the same for Kiffin.

I think the part in bold is the key with Fulmer. He was showing respect for his past accomplishments, not so much the present (or present at the time of the quote.)

sounds like he wants us to keep Dooley so we can be his whipping post. what do you think he's going say, he sucks get someone who can compete. jk i think Dooley will do great and take great pleasure in defeating Saban.

Fulmer recruited his players for those titles and the ones you mention did not. Phil was a good coach and his record is there for the world to judge. Was it time for a change and were things stale? Yes, but he coached some very good games against some great teams. I bought in fully with Kiffin last year and that really didn't work out for me.

THIS x 1,000!!! Dooley had the opportunity to go to Bama with Saban & he chose not to. If he had, everyone would have been hailing him the next big thing.

Because it honestly is true except for the bad offensive coordinator hire once Cutcliffe bailed for Duke....we were a prostyle team with prostyle players. Fulmer should of went the same direction. He made a career ending decision. Simply put....he chose poorly :frown:.

I said he was a really good coach Mr. Negativity....Mr. Uber-Pestimism....I didn't say he was the 2nd coming of General Neyland or Bear Bryant.....or he made Pete Carroll, Nick Saban, and Urban Meyer look like chumps. If you think he wasn't a really good coach and the bottom fell out when Cutt bailed then you're lying to yourself. We had good teams...they were not elite teams like the 1990's Tennessee Volunteer teams but good none the less.

I honestly feel bad for you man.....you show so much negativity on here I worry you're on the same suicide watch now that Urban Meyer is on as well.

Fulmer is done. No one is questioning that. However, as was previously stated, when you act like he lucked into the NC you are showing zero respect for the greatest TN Football accomplishment that has happened in any of our lifetimes.

If Saban thought DD sucked all those years then why didn't he fire him? And why did he bring him with him on multiple staffs? That argument goes both ways.

DD may fail but there is ZERO reason to think Saban doesn't think the world of him as a football coach.

Which would actually be a very good thing for you to do since most of them seem to have been staked out with far less than complete information. You have have determined a bias and bend everything to agree with that bias.
