From Stories I Didn't Expect to Write in Birmingham Dept., Nick Lamaison's HS QB coach is upset #Vols have denied his request for release.

apparently wish to maintain what depth they have at QB, and Lamaison wants to be closer to home and a chance to compete.

Guess its true we didn't let him out of his LOI. Can't say I blame Dooley.

I don't blame him at all. Don't blame Lamaison either. Just one of those cases where everyone is just playing the cards they have the best they can.

I say let him go if he wants to go. He just wants to go somewhere he can play & he knows it will never happen at UT. Dooley knows it too.

All NL has to do is drop down a division to either the FCS or DII and he won't have to worry about not being let out of the LOI.

I hate to say it but Nick, if he stays, could be one or two bad hits away from playing QB for UT. What if Simms and Bray both get hurt (God forbid) all we would have left is Nash, I don't blame Dooley for keeping him to his LOI.

Yup. You have Nance, he'll probably be third-string anyway.

He doesn't let go, he'll just cause discontent in the locker room.

thank you for posting this, Dooley is not being an A-hole. He is being a head coach, which sometimes involves making tough decisions. Everything in life isnt fair. Give it some time and everything will work out

If it ever got to the point that Lamaison had to play, nobody would care if we just ran the
G-Gun full-time.

Didn't say Kiffin wasn't. But just the kid go. It'll cause nothing but discontent.
