Nice to know that this offseason is relatively/off field issues (merged)

It's easier to manage off field problems when it's below freezing outside. Wait until the parties fire up this spring and summer.

When you got big time college players near big time college parties, some s*** is going to go down.

However, I do think (gulp) joe is right about this. Those 5:30 workouts are a real deterrent to rule breaking.

It doesn't sound like our staff will give them much free time. It's hard to be out getting in trouble late at night when you are expected to wake up at 5 to work out and have any hope of contributing. I'm not guaranteeing that there won't be any incidents but it wouldn't surprise me if there aren't. Our team has to be excited about the opportunity they've been given by the new staff.

The players actually seem quite frustrated with the changes, but thats to be expected.

Co-eds in spring/summer wear have a way of messing with the decision making of young college football players.

Oh yeah. Thing is, last year around this time we had like 6 players get in trouble with the law up to and just after NSD. Good to know that they are more focused.

Kiffin got everyone to aim the crosshairs at him, instead. The only thing that's lacking is Kiffin announcing, "I'm 34 and I am a man!"

great thread, last year there were so many 'incidents' I felt like CPF had no one running the show. I think they are so tired between early am work outs and increased studying to stay out and get into trouble.

Plus they now have expectations to meet instead of the lackadaisical treatment they got in years past. I think CLK words were do not embarrass the University.

If they are then they are not admitting it. Everything I've read/heard out of the players has said that it's difficult but they appreciate the new approach.

I'm not worried about them chasing skirt. The workouts make it more difficult for them to go out in public late at night. Almost all of last year's occurences happened at night in a place where the player shouldn't have been. I doubt many will want to get drunk late at night after being up at 5 am and looking forward to waking up that early the next morning.

Mistakes will still happen but CLK seems to be keeping them busy enough to help with prevention. Also, having everybody feel like they contribute and have an opportunity will keep people in line.

if i'm getting up at 5;30 to do timed runs and workouts. i don't think i'll be staying out late much. i'll definitelly not drink.
