I’m visiting my parents for a week so they could have more time with their granddaughter. I live in PA so they only see my daughter in person a couple of times a year. My father is an alum and so am I and of all of his kids I’m the football fanatic (my brother failed in that area hehehe). Well today he surprised me by telling me he got tickets to the game this Saturday. I haven’t been to a game since I graduated 9 years ago so I’m over the moon. Can’t wait to be in Neyland again!

It’s perfect, my dad missed going to games with me because he doesn’t have to explain what is happening. So we’ll get some time together while my mom and sister will take my 18 month old to build a bear and the zoo and just generally spoil her rotten.

As a grandparent who’s grandchildren live a plane ride away, find a job in East TN! Life will be easier for you and your wife having close access to your extended family and your daughter will enjoy having another set of adults loving on her. Money isn’t everything!

We’ll it isn’t that simple. My husbands parents live ten minutes from us so if I moved back down south we’d be moving AWAY from family then too.
not to mention my parents are retiring soon and plan to live in an RV the first couple of years traveling the country

Awesome! I'm taking my Japanese girlfriend who absolutely loves football and plays womans professional (Shut Down Corner) to her first game in Neyland Saturday. Last year was the first year that I have missed at least one game in person since I became a Vol fan when I moved to South Knoxville in 78. And I have lived all over the world since then.

Was here 4 years ago against Georgia when they got blown out and scored zero. Finally was able to move to Knoxville just a month ago. Going to my first game Sat since that time. I'm from Socal and was born to be a USC Trojan fan. I say BUT I will die a Tennessee Volunteer fan. East Tennessee is where it is at and where I will stay. And yes... I know how to vote. Go Vols!

Best of times! I went to my 1st game with my father in 1967 in Birmingham and watched UT beat Bryant’s tide. Always the best of memories through the years.
