Hiring coaches whose philosophies work well with his own doesn't indicate an egocentric approach, as you're implying. Any sensible HC will always bring in those who fit the system, as opposed to those who'd cause radical changes in the overall vernacular. Butch only replaced those coaches who were under-performing...not anybody who'd previously rattled his ego. What's with this cottage industry of negas who keep claiming Butch's ego is standing in the way of his drive to make UT NCs? As per all reports, in all three games it was Shoop's adjustments that stymied AS's, VP's and OU's offenses, and not any adjustments that Butch inserted. AMIRIGHT?:yes:

Lest we forget, Bob Shoop was the defensive coordinator at Vanderbilt in 2013 when they went down to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and beat Florida 34-17 to end their 22-straight losing streak to them.

Vanderbilt forced four turnovers without giving the ball away to offset a 26-12 Florida advantage in first downs and 344-183 edge in total yardage.

"Before the game, (defensive coordinator Bob) Shoop came to all of us and asked us what do we want to leave for our legacy," Hal said. "I think this is what we wanted to leave. We wanted to beat Florida. We wanted to be Georgia. We want to win the rest of the games — just win out."

I like what was said on RTI. Apparently Shoop joked after the presser that he knew he was hired to win this game because he was instructed to by about 600 twitter followers lol
