Nhl 13

I really enjoy playing defender, even when my forward teammates just skate in a group to the puck.

Working on power forward center. Only goals are tipped or garbage rebounds.

I avoid playing wing, I'm terrible at (finese) scoring in general.

Maybe it's just me, but the power forward build seems really nerfed this year. I used PF last year as center but routinely get out skated in 13 with a PF.

I get outskated 9/10 times down the ice, but I leave that to my other wingers. I try to stay in front for deflections or rebounds. Traffic kills a human goalie.

I haven't bought an NHL game since 2011... Is this years game a big step forward from NHL 11 would you say?

Big change this year is with the skating physics; players now skate with realistic weight and inertia.

They also moved more towards realistic skillsets of the avg hockey player - bigger players cannot deke and maneuver as well as smaller players - and smaller players have more difficulty delivering big body checks, for example. Also, only the best players are able to execute skill moves and accurate shots while moving at top speed.

You very much have to tailor your player's size and skills to your playing style in NHL 13.

So, yes, there's a big jump from 11. My only complaint about 13 is their decision to not use vision control - which makes it tougher to square your player up to where the puck is.

I've only played online quick match so far..racked up a pretty good record of 29-10-2. I'm not too familiar with EASHL and club games.

edit - deleted because I was talking about TWF rather than PF in responding to SWIL my bad :furious3:

As a side note, the Bayside Tigers will be playing eashl later tonight, should we set up a game if you guys will be playing also?
