The next installment of the game I play more than any other will feature:

  • This year speedy wingers like Marian Gaborik have the ability to fly by defenders.
  • Going fast has its limitations. Players will get fatigued faster, and only elite players like Sidney Crosby are able to stickhandle and take accurate shots while skating at top speed.
  • To build the new skating system, EA Canada has added over 1,000 new animations.
  • For the first time in the series, goalies now have individual limb control.
  • "This year we've invested more effort in AI than in the last three years combined in terms of effort," Ramjagsingh says.
  • Much to the dismay of some fans, both Gary Thorne and Bill Clement return to the broadcasting booth.

I'm not going crazy until I see how it actually turns out, but the NHL series has been the only EA Sports game that I play more or less regularly from launch until the next edition releases. There's some annoyances, but all in all there's nothing in glaring need of an overhaul like most other EA games

Bought 12. First time I'd purchased a hockey game since NHL '95. I'll probably pick up 13

I had a 1-0 shutout and a 3-2 win back to back in 6v6 OTP as a goalie. The comet should be destroying the earth any minute now.

I would love to see the hip check taken out. It is without a doubt the cheapest move in the game

I have yet to see anyone in the NHL bend over in the "take it in the a$$" position to take someone out and it not get called. But whatever, it's the guys that do it over and over I can't stand
