Florida in the Liberty Bowl? Can't believe bowl committees would let the defending national champs fall that far.

I can't imagine our "D'' looking good against anybody after the SoCAR game Saturday night. We'd probably beat Hawaii, but my goodness, someone start tackling

Sportsline's bowl predictions are vaguely interesting -- in one week they've vaulted us from the Liberty up to the Capital One. They're predicting LSU to win out and go to the title game and Georgia to get an at-large berth to the Sugar Bowl (but against Hawaii, who should get killed by Boise State, so that matchup won't happen). Best as I can tell they've got us winning out and losing the SECCG. Four losses seems a lot for the Capital One, but I guess with two teams in the BCS everybody else moves up.

I still can't imagine a 4 loss Florida team slipping past the Outback, Peach and Music City. Everybody knows that the Gators are a draw and their fans will travel.

No way. Florida will probably be 9-3, or maybe 8-4 if they find a way to lose to SC. They're not falling any farther than the Chicken Bowl at worst.

Here's a nice SMQ article on Hawaii's schedule:

"To date, Hawaii is playing a I-AA schedule. There is no difference in considering Hawaii for a BCS bid right now and considering Northern Iowa and North Dakota State, except that Northern Iowa and North Dakota State actually have wins against a team from a BCS conference."

well to be fair most of the time the schedules are planned years in advance. all the kids can do is win the games play in. I do believe this is a good arguement for why there needs to be some sort of playoff system.

Take a look at UH's schedule. There is no way they thought N. Colorado and Charleston Southern were going to be good when they signed them. They have 1 BCS conf team on the whole schedule and that's a terrible Washington team.

Of course schedules are planned years in advance, but there's no way that this wasn't going to be a putrid schedule in any year:

09/02 N Colorado
09/08 at La Tech
09/15 at UNLV
09/23 C Southern
09/29 at Idaho
10/07 Utah St
10/12 at San Jose St
10/28 New Mexico St
11/10 Fresno St
11/16 at Nevada
11/23 #22 Boise St
12/01 Washington

And they've had to go to overtime twice to be undefeated against that.

this could be another one of those years (if UT goes to the SEC title game) that going to the SEC Champ. game and losing will hurt you more than not even going. If UT and UGA win out and UT loses in the SEC title game, UGA will go to the BCS while we'll be relegated to a mediocre bowl.

And no way Florida would drop all the way to the Liberty Bowl. The Chick-fil-a or Outback would scoop them up in a heartbeat.

My Florida bowl slot is based on a loss to SC and an ugly game against FSU. It also takes into consideration that they would be 4th in the SEC E. standings. Kentucky is the hot team this season and they would travel to Atlanta well too. It's just a far out prediction. If Florida beats SC, they will move way up.

If anyone really believes that UT wins out, beats bama in Atlanta, and goes on to the Sugar, well, let's just say that Jim Jones would've been your guy.
