hopefully they can start cleaning up the MLB's drug problem.

Ahh, the world is now a better place with testing in the NFL. Funny thing, as I enjoyed the games I never worried about who was on anything. I was on Budweiser and other various substances. The games were great. To me anyway. So, if this somehow makes the game better I am all for it. If not, it is much ado about nothing.

I wish they would give skill tests that way when Mark Sanchez fails we could cut him with no pay.

You've got HGH, something that doesn't show up on a test, and you've got guys out there trying to provide for their families. They're going to try to get that edge, get that advantage, especially if they're not worried about trying to get caught. Yeah, it's being used.

-- Vikings RB Adrian Peterson on HGH use in the NFL

I'm sure he's one.

I'd like to see a league where they don't test for anything. Sure we have to have a legit league such as the NFL for histories sake but I want to see what humanity is capable of given the opportunity and resources.

Why are they concerned about HGH? Are they going to start going after guys that eat too healthy an work out too hard because that gives them an advantage as well?

Ok...

I think they should mandate hgh and steroids so we have these freakish guys beating the hell out of one another. Football and MMA cant get any better than that.

Yep. HGH makes guys a little bigger and stronger, but it doesn't make them better players. They don't get cat-like reflexes from the stuff.

What about the dudes who sleep in Hyperbaric chambers? That's cheating bigger than hell. Laugh if you want, but oxygen is a prescribed drug. Sleeping in a 100% oxygen chamber is clearly an advantage....especially in regards to recovery time.

Oxygen isn't a drug.

Uh...yes it is. Although I don't practice anymore I'm a Registered Respiratory Therapist so i pretty well know a lil something about this. You have to have a doctors prescription to use oxygen in the manner in which they are using it.

Again, I'm fully aware that O2 is used for various things. But when it's used for healing or life saving purposes....it's a registered drug. Even in a 2L NC requires a doctors order. And one can overdose and get O2 toxicity. In most medical settings it's even recorded on the M.A.R. (medical administration records), right along with morphine, etc.

I guess I'm confused then as to what you meant. And in reality it is and isn't a drug depending on the use. If its used medically it is. Even considered by the FDA. That's where I don't understand how these dudes are getting away with sleeping in chambers. But it's used for industrial purposes too as I'm sure you would know. So in essence were both right.

Another interesting thing....I'm sure you've heard of oxygen bars, or over the counter O2 shipped here from Japan. I've always wondered how that was legal. They're ripping people off, LMAO! Room air contains 21% O2. To my understanding they are simply filtering compressed room air and supplying the client with the .21 O2 left over. So they really are supplying "pure" O2 as they advertise. But it's "pure" at the base room air .21, LMAO! People go to O2 bars thinking they're getting 1.00 pure O2. That would be a federal crime. An FiO2 of 1.00 for an extended period of time will literally smother and kill someone with Emphysema, or Chronic Bronchitis (COPD). You might know all this, not trying to play you for a dummy. I just found it hilarious that people pay high dollar for filtered compressed room air, LMAO.

Again, to an extent we are both right.

Edit: my point with athletes.....how is it fair for them to use a hyperbaric chamber to recover 20-30% quicker, but it's forbidden for them to use HGH for quicker recovery?

I'm saying they aren't going out and illegally acquiring oxygen.

I got you. But I do think it's being used to an advantage. There's loopholes with how they do it. They don't allow "blood doping", yet they allow dudes on the sidelines to huff and puff on a 100% non-rebreather jacking up their blood O2 levels, giving them better in game endurance. And some doctors don't support the hyperbaric chamber theory. So in theory the players using them have docs who do and will prescribe it. That gives them a clear cut advantage with recovery. I understand that it's not illegal, but I do think they need to look deeper into how O2 is being used to certain player's advantage. Because IMO it clearly is.

I hate baseball, so I wish they'd all do steroids to make it more interesting. When Sosa and McGwire were doing them, they clearly were knocking the heck out of the balls, but they still had to have the accuracy with the bat to make the connections. So I think they hit the balls further, but they were still getting by on their God-given talents. Steroid use tainted their games, but they would have been great players without them and still would have hit a ton of home runs.

Bonds would have been the better example IMO. McGwire and Sosa aside from HRs were pretty average baseball players. Barry had crazy all around talent, and honestly was a better all around player before steroids. Barry would have been and still deserves to be, in the HOF. McGwire and Sosa wouldn't have been in the HOF.
