NFL owners considering adding resolution to improve teams draft position if they hire a minority coach/GM.

I didn’t realize that your jimmies were rustled so much by trying to even the playing field for minorities.
Mine are rustled by it.... don’t create an unfair advantage for a team.....financial reasons is fine but don’t mess with the actual game.

I can’t imagine the owners approving this. How about we just accept they hire the most qualified person for the job

What if the best person is a black person.

Win, win for the owners.

What a crock. I"m sorry, you are more qualified....but we need the draft position more......and this isn't racist apparently.

Stupid IMO. You shouldn't be given a competitive advantage based on the skin color of your GM or coach. If NFL owners care this much about the issue, they should find other ways to help minorities find success. How many assistant coaches are POC? How many coordinators? How many assistant GMs? If you really want to build a better system, then start at the roots and promote hiring at lower levels first. Head coach is something you should work up to. It shouldn't be given based on the color of your skin. And being given a competitive advantage over skin color is moronic and insane. That doesn't promote equality in any way. I have zero problem with increasing minority hirings and giving them the chance to advance, but advancement itself should be based on accomplishment, not skin color.

That's the point. Skin color shouldn't matter. The best person should be hired no matter their skin color. That's called equality. Gaining a competitive advantage based on the skin color of your coach is stupid. Draft position is determined by how bad your team played, and should remain that way.

So they are saying minority GMs are worse than their white counterparts and in order to keep the NFL playing field level they are giving those GMs with a epidermis based handicap a helping hand so they dont fall behind. Yay racism. I mean yay fixing racism.

Just curious, what is the racial makeup of the billionaires that own the teams. I'm thinking the guy that owns the Jaguars is middle eastern descent but I'm not certain. The Cleveland Browns is owed by an idiot, that I'm sure of, the rest I don't know.

Players have the opportunity to win a job by competing against their colleagues every year whether they are black or white. Coaches don’t have that same opportunity afforded to them
Then the owners should be looking at how minorities are hired at lower levels, not at the top. That creates a system that allows for advancement based on accomplishment rather than just giving out jobs based on skin color.

There are 6 black GMs. Which means there are 26 white GMs.

Now that it's leaked out it'll be awfully tough for them to vote it down. Especially if the actual results of the vote are released. The media will be all over the teams that voted no
I just started watching again I hope they don’t make me turn them off again

And?

The NFL is already based on racial disparity. If they are fine with it at the player level why arent they at the higher levels? There are two or three different skills at play here, pun slightly intended.

Those are two different jobs with two entirely different predictors for success. Why should the racial diversity be exactly the same?
Wouldn’t it be more realistic to compare the percentage breakdown of all coaches (assistants, coordinators, etc) to percentage of head coaches?

So what does a rich white billionaire do? Hire a black manager and coach to appease the left or hire the best people for the job and hope they're not white?
To get the better draft pick high a black guy regardless of his qualifications
