You can't necessarily take what the draft advisory predicts.
I bet some guys were taken early because a team liked them or some were not taken at all.

I remember the Auburn running back Ben Tate was predicted to go in the early rounds but five backs were drafted before him to include TOby Gerheart.

I am not sure Cam will get a 1st or 2nd score. He did not make a lot of 1st team AA votes or 1st SEC votes. I think all three come back when the ranking come out.

Anyone else noticed the tweet from ak? He basically thanked the seniors for getting it started and said younger guys would finish the job.
To me it sounded as if he plans on returning and finishing the job.

Disclaimer: not a Twitter guy so not sure I read it correctly with hashtags and crap.

We are over-blowing Sutton's special teams contribution in the NFL. It is a different game with NFL kickers and the NFL has shut down kick off returns to nearly impossible now. So it will be purely based upon his corner skills.

Sutton returns punts and I'm pretty sure they still punt in the league.

There's ALWAYS been a place for linebackers like JRM. Derrick Brooks and Jessie Armstead were at the same weight or lighter at the same point and could play in ANY era.

I think the Titans would be smart to snag Sutton with the first pick of the 2nd Rd. You don't find too many shutdown corners, let alone one who is an extremely dangerous PR. That's why I could see him go anywhere in the 2nd half of the 1st Rd. Because he is such a weapon on ST, I'd take him over UF's Hargraves any day of the week. If he has a 40 time in the 4.4 range or better, then he'll definitely get taken sooner rather than later.

Kamara leaving doesn't make much sense. He might get drafted, but nowhere near what he could if he gives NFL teams a larger sample size. I don't see him going until the 5th Rd or later, TBH. He should stay another season. Bulk up and let the team's rise back to the top of the SEC pecking order, affect the thinking of NFL GM's scouts and draftnicks.

They always seem to heavily favor players coming from Top5-10 teams. If you are a great player on a team with a mediocre record, it has a way of stigmatizing you as being mediocre, as well. There are some rare exceptions, but that is the trend.

All will get return to school grades imho, Sutton has the best chance to receive a second round grade.

RB Jalen Hurd, 6-2, 230, 4.57, Sophomore

This guy's speed is all over the place. 4.3 out of HS, CBJ was quoted saying they had placed tracking devices on the players at practice and Hurd was the fastest on the team, and now this 4.57 which would appear more in line with what we've seen during the games. If his combine time next year is 4.5 - 4.6, would that still be considered fine for a larger type RB in the NFL?

Is he also shrinking at UT...thought he was 6'-4?

He looks 220 tops to me--he is certainly not a big guy. But agree that he is well-suited, with his instincts and mobility, to playing outside.

Bryce Brown is the exception to the rule. Got picked up by the Eagles and played well for them. Just scored a TD for the Seahawks yesterday and is playing well for them.

Regarding JRM's weight, he played at 230 last year and about 225 this year. I think he could play in a 4-3 at somewhere around those weights, maybe have to get to 235. This may sound crazy, but I could see him shedding a few pounds, getting down to 215 and being a very good NFL strong safety. JMO.

Pretty much how I see it.

I'll add that I think Sutton is a toss up. I've seen him rated as low as the 3rd round and as high as the 1st. What the one that matters will say, I guess we will have to see.

Cam is gone...2nd round.

JRM and Kamara, if they received a grade would be late rounds, but eventually UFA. They'll both be back.

My selfish self wants all 3 to stay, but I think that is nearly a pipe dream at this point.

My best guess is that Kamara and JRM stay, and Cam leaves.

I won't fault any of these guys for realizing their dreams.

Kamara is the one I think should stay, definitely. He's an elite talent, but he only had one year on a power 5 conference football team, and is sort of like Michel was to Gurley and Chubb...a solid tag-team member, but not enough of a sample size for NFL teams to evaluate fully.

In one sense, if Chip Kelly got the Titans job, I'd love to see Kamara play in his system...but I don't think he'd get drafted anywhere near where he should He's a definite 2nd or 3rd Rd grade, but not this year. Just not enough film for teams to invest an early pick on.

I know Hargreaves and Ramsey have declared for the draft. Not sure of anyone else on that list.
