Bucky's Best: Deshaun Watson leads CFB's top field generals - NFL.com

I told you guys the NFL is alot higher on Dobbs than you think. He has the measureables and the tools. He's flashed elite talent. Its all about CONSISTENCY.

If he shows consistency this fall, Dobbs will be a lock as a 1st round pick.

NFL teams will be fighting over a chance to draft him.

I can't reiterate this enough. His problem is check downs. He will watch His first reciever and if he isn't open he runs or throws an arrant pass. If he learns to check down this year he will be the best qb we have had. His problem is check downs. There were times last year that jalen hurd would be wide open with a clear path for a minimum of 30 yard pickup but he would chose to throw into coverage. Just gotta check down. If he does that we will be in the play offs

He over thinks. Sometimes you just gotta throw the ball and allow the wreciever be in position to make a play. You can't hesitate.

Anybody think that if Derrick Henry has a good year with the Titans that it might help Hurd go higher in the draft since they are similar in size?

Couldn't hurt. I think Jalen showing breakaway ability/ability to score on runs from anywhere on the field like Fournette and Chubb and Cook and McCaffrey have consistently done would do much more for him IMHO.

You crack me up. I remember an argument or 500 about Dobbs' *accuracy* but you defended his accuracy at length. Now you are talking about *consistency* as his weakness.

Accuracy is consistently hitting the target.

Would love to see Joshua put it all together this year throwing the ball, lead Tennessee to an SEC and National title and be drafted in the first round.
Now that Peyton has retired, I need a great former Vol QB to root for on Sundays.

I just gotta see him make the leap forward first though before I can believe he's a sure fire future starting QB in the NFL. There's zero doubt to me that he's smart enough, has all the intangibles, has the leadership and character needed, and that he has a strong enough arm. It all hinges on his ability to demonstrate that he can stand in the pocket and beat NFL defenses by being incredibly accurate. THE most important attribute for an NFL QB is the elite ability to make quick, correct decisions and then deliver the football with great accuracy. Josh still has to show that he can do that.

I agree. I think he can do it, get better, but there's a reason there aren't many people like Manning.

I love Dobbs as a college QB. Don't see much as a pro because the NFL is a passing league, and he has yet to show consistent accuracy or touch as a passer. Having him above Rosen on that list is just silly.

I approve this message... hiertofore Dobbs has not shown an NFL arm, yet he has an NFL body... let's hope his off-season work has changed that... he did look better in the spring... some college throwers just don't have the correct technique for the NFL, eg Tebow.

I think Dobbs is gonna need 15 or so more pounds as an NFL QB. Same goes for Watson who's virtually the same size.

Does anyone know if this guy even wants to play NFL? Dude may be building and flying airplanes at the next level soon.

Can't imagine he wouldn't want to. Go give the NFL a shot, sign a couple or 3 good QB contracts, make millions for seed money for his aeronautical company/firm by the age of 35.

yes I do, I think that Hurd's stock will go up and so will Barnett's. I love Dobbs, don't get me wrong, but I just don't see it translating to the NFL, but I've been wrong many times! The accuracy is just not there. Can anyone say Tim Tebo? Maybe Dobbs should try baseball Ha!

Problem is that you say the same thing about a select group of players every year and last year you were wrong on almost every draft prediction. Nobody is allowed to say he has aspects of his game to work without race coming up from you. The problem is not that you pump more orange than the sun, it is that you try and shove it down anyone's throat who thinks Dobbs could improve his passing game. You are like that crazy lady that for three years says she dreamed of a horse so someone is going to have a baby. Then someone is finally pregnant and you say you knew it. What kind of man seriously says I told you so over an internet article. Get real dude.

Don't think there's much here that most of us don't already think. Dobbs has tools. Dobbs has accuracy/consistency issues. If Dobbs shows improvement this year he improves draft stock. Not earth shattering information.

I guess that's best case scenario for him.

Hopefully all while being 2nd/3rd on depth chart and never taking a hit.
